Leaked: Object 907 will be implemented

Object 907 will be apparently implemented as the alternative Soviet tier X medium tank. A screenshot was leaked by a supertester and Storm - when confronted with it - replied simply "when it's done, it's done".

History:

On 20.5.1952, Ministry of Defense industry of USSR organized a meeting with tank constructors and with the marshal of tank forces, I.S.Bogdanov, to discuss the future of armored forces development. The result of this meeting was a set of tank requirements from 18.6.1952. The resulting tank was to be better than T-54 - that was however no easy tasks and several teams (notably from plants no. 75, 174, 183 and research institute no.100) were tasked to make a preliminary study. The design, produced by the research institute was designated "Object 907" and - as requested - its armor was significantly better than the one of the T-54. From 1954 to 1956 the metal prototypes of the hull and turret were manufactured in order to conduct armor tests and to find ways to improve the protection even more.
There two variants of the hull. The first hull was cast as whole, the second was welded from cast components. After the tests, the protection levels of the vehicle were found to be significantly higher than the ones of the T-54 (by as much as 30 percent). The turret was (thanks to its angles) as well protected as the one of the T-10 heavy tank.
The vehicle was to be equipped with the 100mm D-10T gun, but there was a plan to install even the 122mm M-62 gun. It was to be propelled by the 700hp B12-5 diesel engine with two transmission types: hydrodynamic (like in T-54) and mechanical (like in T-34).
The vehicle stayed in the semi-prototype phase, apparently because by the time it was introduced, the production of T-54 tanks was already underway.

Characteristics:

Armor - frontal hull plate (upper part): cca 162mm
frontal hull plate (middle part): cca 150mm
frontal hull plate (lower part): cca 30mm
             hull sides: 60-124mm
             rear hull: 45mm
             turret sides: cca 144mm
Gun - D-10T or 122mm M-62
Engine - B12-5, 700hp
Speed - 55 km/h (45 in terrain)

  3. Hmmm, I imagine those cupola turrets will be weak spots for gunner and TC kills especially when facing the side of the turret and that lower front plate looks rather tempting...

    1. Unknown, but I am pretty sure this is the tier 10 tank prolongment from the alternative Soviet line (with Object 416).

    2. What the hell are you talking about? Just before the Chinese, the U.S. got a new light/heavy/med line, the Germans are getting new light tanks (the famous Pz.I included). Calm the hell down.

  9. Given that the crew names are visible in the screenshot, WG will probably be able to identify and ban this supertester anyway if they manually check the accounts.... unless he/she dumped the tank and crew already.

  10. Obj 907 has never been built. Why not choose Obj 430 instead?

    2. I think this is op. look at its data. Side armor. It is like the IS-3, side sloped armor. 150mm in front. A 122 gun will look like the 121 tank. And finally it has top speed of 54km. Who will play T62A after this tank comes into the game?

    3. T62-A has a 100mm Cannon with higher RoF and that´s the big difference between both Tanks.

  11. I've seen this being suggested for a long time, from before the official announcement of tier X meds. The second pic is a fanmade render, right?

  12. Great another OP russian TD.

  13. How can u say something is OP when it's only available to supertesters? I mean, they can change the tank completely or give it some other drawbacks that are not listed here. Really mates, I think you shouldn't whine before you get to see the thing in game, not only some data...

    1. Because the goddamn armor scheme, the slopes are ultra good. Its a medium, wich means it will have at least some speed and maneuverability with that armor, and the gun isnt that bad.

  14. That super-tester was dumb. he should have obscured much more than just his name. He should have obscured the names of the crew members as well as how much premium account time he got left, credits, gold etc.

  15. It is "elite premium tank". People will get it as the prise for some achivements. Same as M-60. No other way to have it.

ob.430 II (9 tier) and ob.430 (10 tier) will enter the game as the ob.416 branch. Whatch the news.
