- there will be more Soviet tanks implemented in general (SS: possibly one medium and one more heavy branch at least)
- the first game SerB ever played was "Skeet shooting" from 1974 on BESM-6
- eventually, shells will be able to penetrate a whole tank and damage targets behind it
- Prokhorovka in game doesn't have to resemble the real Prokhorovka: "There are many Prokhorovkas in the world"
- SerB doesn't care about the "In development" portal section
- SerB spends one hour or two per day on forums
- SerB answering, whether he saw the War Thunder tanks: "We've seen it. I'll see, what will exactly be in the game. And when."
- historical battles won't come anytime soon
- SerB on War Thunder: "We - unlike competition - actually heavily prefer cybersport, that's already a done decision. And 'historical battle mode' like the competition has - with MiG 15 over Stalingrad - doesn't make us happy in particular. To do this right is very difficult."
- SerB on War Thunder realism: "The same damage system (as in WT) on tanks - so that a tank will be detracked and won't move for another half an hour? - SerB does drink tea and does smoke
- it's possible British arty will have HESH shells
- various nations don't have to have similiar light tank branches
- US full light tank line will most likely happen, Soviets don't have enough vehicles for a full line yet
- there is no plan to allow light tanks to be taken as "free slots" in Clanwars (SS: as in each team would have a few extra slots exclusively for light tank scouts)
- SerB expects that in 0.8.6 the scouts will remain roughly the same, arty will have more hard time hitting them, so their number might rise
- Q: "Is this your reaction to the fact that Gamebox is countersuing World of Tanks?" (SS: the Chinese company that made the WoT copy)

- not all the maps that were developed made it to the game, some didn't pass the tests
- according to SerB, the map rotation works okay
- the minor arty name changes (Object 212 to Object 212A) are apparently for historical reasons
- in 0.8.6, arty shell trajectory will remain the same despite arty velocity nerfs
- it's possible, but not yet sure, that arty might be the top tank of the team
- there will be new soundtrack implemented into the game, but not many tracks
- British artillery is practically ready
- Sexton I was delayed because the devs need to implement and balance the tier 10 arties first
- T71 model fix (SS: currently, T71 is not historical, it's a mashup of two various projects) doesn't have a priority atm
- special effects such as rain and snow will eventually come
- press-accounts can choose which map they want to play, they can also disable maps from rotation
- various times of the day during battles will be implemented (SS: dusk, dawn, noon etc...), but they won't be tied to real time
- there most likely won't be more maps for new players (tier 1-2), it would be too complicated for newbies
- arty shell velocity was nerfed, because the devs feel it's too easy to shoot moving and maneuvering targets
- the idea to reduce terrain passability when the tracks are damaged was never considered

      Last time mine started update 5 hours before the announcement, after a random try. I can't tell you now what's going now, I'm not writing from my PC.
      Give it a try!

    6. Press accounts are there since Beta. Also, they not only can select whatevery they want, they also have all tanks that are in game (regular+prems+special gift tanks) on elite and all crews with 9 skills. Oh and they have unlimited gold and credit supply.

      Maybe only to test unavailable tanks such as PzIV Hydro, KV-220, BT-SV and other.
      But no, I don't want to play on a account where I can't progress and everything is free.

    1. That's hardly a joke, considering that it's the chinese court that decides and a foreign company may end up losing no matter what. But this is hardly unique to China, just consider how US treats foreigners. Non-US citizens may be jailed indeffinitly or killed as mere possible suspects, no trials or proof needed.

  4. The shell velocity nerf was a bad move, it just makes it more random (stationary target might be able to partially dodge the shell in the time it takes for it to get there). What they *should* have done is increase dispersion while traversing the gun...

The nerf of speed for SPG shells was supposed to be about 10-15%, which - for example - on Hummel shooting at distance of ~995 m means travel time changed from 2.26 s to 2.66 s. Tank at 18 km/h (remember we're talking about stationary vehicles - or ones that has been stationary just a second ago) will travel 2 m in this time.

      Still not much room for dodging, if you ask me. ;)

    1. AFAIK, it was planned at one time to be the FV4005 183 mm Gun Tank Stage 1, although this may have changed.

    Make the shell velocity random.
    ex: if now the maximum shell velocity is 500m/s, then give it a random 25% increase/decrease in velocity. This could really take away the ability to shoot moving targets.

    Yes i don't care about arty, and yep i hate arty. It's no fun when I'm driving at full speed and arty one-shots me.

    1. why not the same for tanks? isn't it annoying to get one-shotted by JPz E-100s from 300+m while moving at full speed in ur T-50-2?

      see the logic behind ur request? there is none. If u get hit by arty at full speed, then u have a very good arty player as enemy, that's all. if an arty player is good, then he should be able to play good, and not like every noob that isn't able to pre-aim because.

    6. Hitting a target without LOS with parabolic path is many orders of magnitude harder than hitting with LOS. If you can do the first, second shot should NEVER fail

    1. Please FTR staff, ask developers about the configuration of the crews in the upcoming new soviet heavy line.
      I follow the principle of always using the same crew on whatever tank I use, this to get the maximum value for the xp I spend on my crew acquireing skills and perks.
      Because of this my crew advances fast in skills and perks but the number of tanks I can play is very limited.
      With a new soviet heavy line there is renewed chance for me to play more tanks.

  22. I wouldn't dismiss the possibility that War Thunder army update will bring forward bases that let you repair damaged parts of your tanks. I highly doubt they'll make your drive 5kms to the base. WT has had major economy problems but gameplay has been fun. Also realism mode gives much better rewards than arcade for the trouble.

    Not to mention that Gaijin most likely won't be fixated on tracked combat vehicles, so there will be ARVs, armoured cars, AA-vehicles, all that jazz.

    exemple: T8 gets moved to T10, both will be unlock

    the Pz.Sfl. IVb will be unlocked if i unlock the grille?

  24. Sloped armor got a massive buff this patch, guess which tanks feature this heavily? IS6 is now basically god-mode, as even though I'm not the best player, I just got 8 kills and steel wall taking 8491 potential damage to boot. IS7 bouncing and eating shots like mad. IS3 bouncing all T8 and below shells head on and laughing.

    And, arty is being matched up similar to tiers, getting top tier in many cases, and one-shotting tanks at will, while splash is killing tanks 2 tiers below them. I tried my arty out and it's more accurate than before. GG Wargaming, you guys fucking suck.

    Lol, even the arcade battles in War Thunder are 20 times more realistic than World of Warplanes, and infinitely more enjoyable. I've played both and I love War Thunder while despising World of Warplanes. (I've been playing WoT since the closed beta and still do).

    World of Warplanes is a game that adds nothing to the flight genre that the competition does not do at least 2 times better.
    My hopes are up for World of Warplanes.
