As you probably noticed, new ASAP (KTTC in Russian) video is out. Nothing new or surprising in it, just a recap of the things known from 8.5 patchnotes. But at least it's confirmed the Chinese will get a new tier 8 premium vehicle to replace the Type 59.
Anyway, the translation:
- when regular AP shells penetrate the hull, they travel the distance of several (10?) shell calibers (SS: eg. 100mm shells = 1m distance). The same rule applies for HEAT shells.
- when in contact with spaced armor or external modules, the same rules apply for HEAT shells as for AP shells
- HEAT shells do not have an increased chance to set the tank on fire
- for now, there are no plans to introduce the Soviet T-100 and T-111 heavy tanks, but SerB keeps them in his mind
- SerB states that both map bases (resp. spawn points) don't have to by symmetrical, but the assymetrical aspects compensate for each other
- if I understand it correctly, Soviets will have a new heavy tank (perhaps whole branch) planned, filled with rear-turret tanks
- the 105mm Centurion in game is not the Israeli Sho't Kal
- Chieftain is not planned for now. The devs are collecting info on it and they are looking at its prototype
- SerB states that if hje recalls correctly, the top Jagdtiger gun shells are flying at 930m/s (in game), Doyle and Chamberlain state the historical velocity for the JT gun was 880 m/s
w8 what type59 will be gone? lol
ReplyDeleteWell it's not being sold and it won't be in near future, the Chinese need a "regular" hightier grindtank to replace it
DeleteAll likely hood it will be either a slow and heavily armored tank with a sub-tier gun or a slow and un-armored tank with a very good sniping gun
Deletewell i watch the video and there is nothing about t59 (in english substitles of course)...where i miss something? im lost now :| :)
DeleteEnglish sound version, 2:40
DeleteI assume that they plan to create a new Tier 8 Chinese Medium in order to make once and for all sure that the Type 59 will NEVER be sold again and only be part of special events/tournaments as a price for the best players. Sounds logical and also reasonable to me.
DeleteWe don't need another Type 59 glut.
Who confirmed that massage about replace of type 59, cause in video is no words about that there is just information about new Chinese premium tank will come.
DeleteTo make things clear: Type 59 won't disappear, it just won't be sold. In order for the Chinese to have a "normal" premium tier 8, another tank is planned. WZ-111 was confirmed NOT to appear on EU and NA server in general (exceptions being some superspecial events), so Wargaming will implement a new tier 8 tank, it's not yet clear whether it will be a medium or a heavy (maybe both), but the screenies showed a new model (a 113-like hull with a 111 turret), so that might be it.
Delete- if I understand it correctly, Soviets will have a new heavy tank (perhaps whole branch) planned, filled with rear-turret tanks
ReplyDeleteIt's not the Obj 416 branch?
Those aren't heavy tanks.
DeleteWhat the player asked was whether the Soviets get their own "Topok", which is the Russian nickname for the VK4502(P) Ausf.B - a heavy tank with its turret in the back.
maybe we have a branch like the T57 one of US filled with med and HT
DeleteAt 3:02 u can see one of the new Arys. It looks close to the SU-8 but it has different transmission and on the back there are some extra things the SU-8 doesnt have. Moreover it seems to mount a 203mm gun.
ReplyDeletethats Su-14 with open casket.
Deletethx for the info :)
Delete- SerB states that if hje recalls correctly, the top Jagdtiger gun shells are flying at 930m/s (in game), Doyle and Chamberlain state the historical velocity for the JT gun was 880 m/s
ReplyDeleteBut historical JTs fired another gun, right? Did they ever mount the better 12.8 that they can in-game?
Only the older 128 IIRC
Deletethere is three new things in that "ASAP" video.
ReplyDeleteSU-14 with open casket
BatChat155 with different body
...aaaand the scariest thing ever: http://i.imgur.com/nv7xP2D.jpg GwTiger(Porsche)
Yea I caught those differences too. Is the last arty that looks like GwTiger some kind of up armored GwTiger?
Delete-Ridge
Maybe it's just remodelled old arty?
Delete- if I understand it correctly, Soviets will have a new heavy tank (perhaps whole branch) planned, filled with rear-turret tanks
ReplyDeleteinteresting.. any info on that? Which tanks existed or were in plans? :P
- Chieftain is not planned for now. The devs are collecting info on it and they are looking at its prototype
wow..
btw, do you have any new info about that 0.8.6 update? In that new ASAP thingy.. they show SU-8 with 203mm O.O
Also the Gw Tiger and BatChat also look a bit strange..
well, for example, there were Shamshurin's IS-2M. in fact that's IS-2 with rear turrent placement.
Deleteand so on.
and thats not Su-8, thats Su-14.
IRL there were two Su-14 built, one with open casket, and second with closed.

DeleteThanks for the explanation :)
DeleteIt's a lot familiar to SU-8 xD
As for the differences and screenshots
SU-14 open-top, 203mm

GW Tiger [ There is no more that rear circle thing ]
http://i45.tinypic.com/izp5yf.jpg
BatChat differences which amaze me the most.. [ The hull is different, the gun also a bit different.. ]

thats not batchat thats a chaffee with arty turret
Deleteutokepes/EU
Chaffee has 5 roadwheels, this has 6
Deleteremember the historical JT gun is the L55, not the L61
ReplyDeleteIf the 105mm cent is not Shot kal,I WANT IT!
ReplyDelete- when regular AP shells penetrate the hull, they travel the distance of several (10?) shell calibers (SS: eg. 100mm shells = 1m distance). The same rule applies for HEAT shells.
ReplyDelete- when in contact with spaced armor or external modules, the same rules apply for HEAT shells as for AP shells
Does this mean that if you hit, say, a sideskirt at a really bad angle, the stream will disappear before striking the main armour?
I was under the impression that there are no special rules regarding HEAT vs spaced armour ingame.
-Platypusbill
As you said, there are no special rules regarding HEAT. The "10 caliber distance" is not triggered by the spaced armor, the spaced armor should only lower the HEAT shell's penetration by its effective thickness I think.
DeleteAh, just misunderstood the text, was a bit sleepy at the time :P
Delete-Platypusbill
I bet WG Choose the First Model.. You know how WG's Worked...
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for some Chieftain news since the Bovington visit, guess i have to take what i can get.
ReplyDeleteThe chinese tank at 2:43 look like a combination of 113 chassis and wz-111 turret
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/08Tkl9bhdbM?t=2m44s
I think that's the premium WZ-111
DeleteNo the WZ-111 (all WZ-111's) have a pike nose front and this has the 113's exact hull but with a forward mounted turret from the WZ-111.
Delete~MotorizedPatriot from NA
Yup. This tank is only available on the chinese server I think :/
DeleteThat new BatChat arty is using the M26 Pershing hull
ReplyDelete- the 105mm Centurion in game is not the Israeli Sho't Kal
ReplyDeleteOf course it isn't, the Sho't Kal are mk. 5 Centurions up armored on the top frontal glacias with added steel plate, has headlights attached that same plate and among many modifications uses a Patton's engine I believe.
I have a question regarding the chinese premiums, i didnt know where to ask so i thought that here i will get the quickest response. Will wz 111 become a tier 8 premium chinese heavy , and when will it come?
