Wargaming plans for 2013

Wot-news.com made a summary article, what waits for us in 2013. I don't think it's an official Wargaming text (can't see source quoted anywhere) - still, it's good. Main points:

- according to the developers, 2013 will be all about team competitions and e-sports
- 7/42 companies will be implemented
- 2013 has 6-10 patches planned (2 of which are out already), new tanks and maps are planned for most (perhaps each one) of them
- up to 11 new maps are planned for 2013
- 0.8.5 will have the German medium branch (VK2001DB, DW, VK3002DBv1, Indienpanzer, Leopard prototype, Leopard)
(SS: also apparently the 3 Soviet light tanks: T-60, T-70, T-80 at tier 2, 3, 4 probably)
- 0.8.6 will bring the new Soviet medium branch and possibly the replacement of T-50-2 with MT-25
- tier 9 and 10 arty - early autumn, after that the British arty will come
- premium Type 59 will not return regularily, might be a part of events/special sales, but the Chinese premium heavy WZ-111 might make an appearance
- Japanese tanks will appear either at the end of this year, on early next year, some of them are confirmed to have autoloaders
- replay mechanism will be changed this year too, replays will be stored at WG server

    1. you already have the tier 9 and 10 arty technically. They have already said in videos that what they will add is mid-tier arties and move the high ones up.

  3. And what about second German TD branch??? They were announced one fucking year ago...

    1. The 2nd German TD branch is a mess. The Waffentragers look hard to design and balance-- don't judge them too harshly.

  4. It will be nice if they change crew roles in Type 62 to same distribution like in WZ-131. Loader/radio operator is better variant then commander/radio operator. And it should be changed so ppl can train its WZ true properly in type 62.

  5. What about the planned tier 7-8 mediums?

In your past Q&A's, I read that there are:

tier 8 British med and heavy premium planned
    tier 8 German med planned
    tier 7 T-44A premium planned

    1. Ye basically. There's also the British Excelsior (I guess that counts as heavy)

    2. Oh and French T7 premium med was planned at some point

    3. Any possible candidates you know of?

  6. VK3002DBv1? is that a completely new vehicle to the VK3002DB then i wonder?

    1. It's the earliest VK3002DB proposal with torsion bar suspension (looks like the one of T-34), basically same hull, top turret is the same as the stock turret of the T7 VK3002DB, top gun is the L/70

    2. if it has agility and armour on the same scale as its big brother, I'm sending my 3001H to the scrapyard :D

    3. So those that have the 3002DB will have to grind all over from w/e the lowest tier tank is ._. ?!

  7. Well I look forward to the new U.S Meds & the Char 50 B French Heavy hope to see em coming soon!

  8. But, but muh AMX 30...

  9. So the new german medium line will look like VK2001DB-->VK3002DBv1-->VK3002DBv2-->Indien Panzer-->Leopard 1 Prototype-->Leopard 1, eh?

    1. Hmm..and which tank will fill the DB line on tier 5?

      Delete
    2. Well, SS stated in "10.03.2013" that DW will be tier3-4 material.Thats why I asked what would fill the gap.

    3. Is the VK3002DBv2 the one we have?

  10. Well, guess 2013 will see the end of mwreplays.com and wot-replays.org - something tells me WG won't implement some form of getting your hands on your replays easily.

    1. Maybe we'll be able to download the replays from their server if we want to keep them. This server-side replays was an ideea to 'fix' the issue where tons of replays take a big amount of disk space, most of the replays being useless.

      Delete
    2. Well, the probably already save all of the battles anyway, so this way they will simply just be giving us access to them

      Delete
    3. This solution should help us to get full replays even that we were not in battle until it ends. Replays should be stored on server only temporary.

      Delete
    4. The "issue" that tons of replays take a big amount of disk space is kind of a non-issue really. I run wot-replays.org (hence my interest in this change) and 150.000 replays take up a little under 75Gb of disk space at the moment.

That's not all that much considering that for the average player, let's say you do 40 battles daily, that's 280 battles per week, that means that you have to play straight for almost 536 weeks. That's nearly 10 years :)

Let's say you do 400 battles daily, even then that's almost a year of playing straight, non-stop 400 fights every day before you reach that number.

Why Wargaming has decided on this course of action, well, I don't know. I have my ideas on it but they'll just sound strange at best, and crackpot conspiracy theorist at worst so I won't get into it just yet.

Hopefully it'll be implemented in a sane manner (ehhh, yeah...) where you can elect to save replays you like to disk, at which point everything works as usual. One can hope, really.

    5. Just want to thank you and AreWe for hosting replays. I learnt a few new tricks from watching them.

  11. What about fixing bugs, instead of spamming us with new useless unbalanced and bugged tanks ?

  12. Does anyone know if the VK2801 will proceed to the LEO 1 as well, or is just the VK3002DB?

    ReplyDelete

    1. IIRC, it will come, but not in 8.5

There was some trouble with the tier 7, so it got postponed.

      Delete
    2. so they should wait with VK2801 nerf as long as this problems with tier7 LT are fixed......

      Delete
    3. WTF, stop posting crap. It's the T8 LT that won't come in 8.5, T7 LT (Aufklärungspanzer Panther) will, that was confirmed by Storm.

  13. Oh boy, WZ-111 tier 8 heavy IS-3 copy with 300 pen gold round, because after all the problems Type 59s we need to have another broken tank introduced in the server. You may as well introduce a Centurion mk.5 with the L7 as a tier 8 British premium tank if you're considering this thing. =/

    1. wz-111 is analog of IS-6 - slower, with better armor and heat instead of apcr but with reduced rof.

      Delete
    2. It's a HEAT round bro so 0 normalization. It means you still need to know where to aim just like with the 217mm pen APCR ammo for the regular D-25T

  14. Anti-Japanese/Italian bias working as intended. Those two countries participated actively in the war, yet WG prioritizes on Chinese tanks that were no more than copies (Russian/Chinese bias much?). Better if WG just said that there will be no Japanese or Italian tech tree in WoT.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Dude come on. Japanese tree is in the making, Chinese tree was introduced rapidly because they entered that market with their game. Italians will probably be included in the EU tree. Get your shit together.

      Delete
    2. They have been active, yes, but Japanese designs are crude and not competitive (my god, the best tank in the pacific couldn't win a sherman, so americans have the upper hand in the whole war without much effort in that part). Pacific theathe was more on air and sea, not much tank land battles.

Italians, on the other hand, have some nice tanks, and I think they deserve to have a separate tree (I'm spanish, and I always think in Italians as close relatives in many things) but they lack modern tanks in upper tiers, I think tier 9-10 could be a little tricky, but, .....easier than chinese by far, China lack almost any model in the prewar, and most are postwar russian adaptations. Shame!!

      Delete
    3. You'd be surprised how much quality stuff did the Japanese project and build. Seriously good tanks (the good stuff stayed in Japan though to defend the islands) - whereas the Italians have a real problem around T8-10, no full heavy branch etc.

      Delete
  15. cant they just implement a tree with what Italy tanks they can find (like maximum tier 6), and then slowly expand from there? Or if they cannot find a tier 10 tank, then a tech tree will nt be made?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Italy branches (medium + TD) are scheduled to be a part of the EU tree

  17. Can someone clear up what will be the fastest and easest tank to get the Leopard 1?

    1. from 3002DB (you may start saving xp already)

you may also go from vk2801, but t8 light may come later then in 0.8.5, so you will be stopped waiting
