New vehicle screenies

Hello everyone,

now, I know I promised I won't be posting leaks - and I keep my promise. These pictures are not mine, they were posted by a third party already here and here (I usually follow Kankou's content, that's how I ran into it, credit goes to her :) ). WoT news also posted it. Enjoy!

Also, before you start raging about leaks again: Overlord told me they don't give a shit about them at Minsk HQ, the whole AMAGADLEAKS was Wargaming EU being holier than thou.

    2. But we had already leaks from the T54E2 and T95E2. And to be honest a T95E2 makes a much better US medium T10 than this slow "medium"

    3. I don't think you realize how many mediums the Americans have to work with.

I really want this! I commanded a platoon of them in the early 80's. The A1 version that is.

I guess it's a matter of taste. I love the looks of the M48, but that box just ruins it for me.

    3. Durbruchwagen, historically it was meant to be a heavy breaktrough tank but I guess it could pose as a medium as it was very similar to the VK30.01(H).

      Delete
    4. I said it before, I'll say it again that a branch set up like this doesn't make sense. Durchbruchwagen feels like the odd one here. I reckon it would fit better just before VK3601 with possibility of researching also VK3001(H), as achtungpanzer.com article claims both VKs (30 & 36) were further developments of DW project. In it's place in this line, personally I'd see Panzer III/IV (maybe with connection to VK3001(H) again), as it would nicely fit a line of high mobility mediums. Finally, the Panzer IV would end up in line finishing with E-50 (again it makes sense - line of mainstay, solid, pure breed medium tanks).

Maybe that led WG to add the E-100 troll gun on it instead of the regular 8.8 or 10.5 guns on the lighter version.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The cheiftain will probably no make it in, at least not in its production form. The L11A5 that was mounted on the production model could penetrate 340mm of armour at 2km with standard steel rounds. However, the prodotype to the chieftain only mounted the 120mm L1A1 and would actually fit into the game fairly comfortably.

I also read on the site that the M60 is being shelved and might not ever be released (due to balancing issues).

    1. out of the users point of view the VK7201 (Lowe) has a HUGE drawback which will make it unable to even compete with a maus or E100.

Normally, german Tanks and in some occasions american tanks are able to perform "sidescraping" tactics to be able to close a road or attackingside with pure steel.

The "Failowe" wont be able to perform this, as (some of you might noticed)
it got a Rounding (following the Turretline) in the rear which breaks the sidearmors ability to bounce shells. This "rounding" will be THE weakspot if you try to perform sidescraping, as it decreases the impactangle.

Why does it have a rear mounted turret then?

This tank is already obsolete (in my opinion and out of my WOT experience) before its introduction..
As though you cant defend a line, you should be able to be useful in offense... well but it definitely wont have enough armor to stop Premshells (possibility of taking over MAUS's offense role properly in battle), esp lower frontal plate, typical Lowe Turretweakspots.

I cant imagine it will perform on par with other T10 heavies due to the mentioned drawbacks

      Working as intended?
For WOT probably, for "underdeveloped" german tanks definitely....

      Delete
    2. And look at that awesome depression! Flat front glac as well. For that tank to work, it would have to have its armor values buffed 200% of historical proposal, and its speed greatly increased. Every single piece of fail in game tank model is present on that ugly piece of crap. Pay to penetrate derp gun. Rear turret. No depression. Big flat lower glac. Flat side armor. Slow. Visible.

    3. it's how the design was you dipshit. what do you want? devs to create their own version of Lowe??

      Delete
    4. >devs to create their own version of Lowe??
Nope but place it in its appropriate tier per specs and historical period, tier 8 or perhaps 9, actually I wonder whether it's really a tier 10 or not.

      Delete
    5. Dipshit,

The current Lowe was to have 140 mm of armor, and a 15 cm gun. The light Lowe was to be faster, lightly armored, and a smaller gun. Morons at WG are putting it at T10. The devs could pull their head out of their ass and place tanks where they should be, and give them what they were supposed to have.

  36. The VK7201 Löwe is actually the Leichter Löwe: a lighter and lesser armoured version of the current "Schwerer Löwe" we currently have ingame.

Even though it's lighter and lesser armoured, it wasn't really faster and more manouvreable than the Schwerer Löwe.

Being a tier 10 tank with about the same mobility and gun as the E-100, yet as armoured as a tier 7-8 tank, I can't see it be more than the most useless heavy of tier 10.

Unless WarGaming decides to take an unrealistic approach to this tank, giving it either high mobility, giving it a better gun than the 128mm L55 or the 150mm L38, OR making it a tier 8, this tank will simply end up as an underpowered massive failure.

I'm also kind of dissapointed that the M60 doesn't have it's production turret, but this could be due to it being out of WoT's era.
It could happend that they decide to give us the A1 turret, let's hope...

With a good accuracy on the move, the mobility of the M103 or T110E5 and a gundepression of 10°, you would have a nice german support tank!

Is it only me or das the VK7201 look like a loltracer on steroids!

    5. The turret isnt really good if the enemy knows where to aim he can damage u without a problem and the turret of the Löwe is really good, too. Because the 120 mm armor of the turret, is the armor without the gunshild, with it its more like 300mm and that is as good or even better!

  40. As for the M60 it seems more likely that the top machinegun/commanders hatch on the turret will be the tanks main weakpoint.

Also the turret is less rounded. I actually think it's quite pretty looking.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. its not less rounded, it is the EXACT same turret and gun mantlet model as the M48, only the MG turret is changed (hurray for reusing models, give us more copy paste WG to save up on work)

the fact they are using the slightly modified M48 turret from early M60 variant to save themselves work (historical reasons my ass, there is no reason, historical or balance to not use the improved M60A1 turret) is just sickening, their entire plan to keep people playing is making as many new tanks as possible as fast and with as little work as possible to keep people grinding and converting xp (while completely disregarding proper balance of the new tanks)

Ill be getting the failowe only because iv researched almost every German tank to date and will continue to do so every update to the German tree, it does look ugly and well underwhelming.

I really like the look of the vk2001, i wonder if itll have the same armaments as the pz3 altho looks very tall which maybe its downfall somewhat.

  48. this is how i think they could make the m60 fit nicely into the current medium US branch. move the current tier 8 pershing to a new tier 8 premium(now the US would have a true premium medium and not some under gunned heavy tank.) then move the m46 patton to tier 8 rebalence it for that role, m0ve the m48 to tier 9 remove the m68 gun from its tech tree, and then put the m60 in as the tier 10. One other thing... since the m60 will undoutably come stock with the m68 gun... they should make the m60a1 turret an upgrade in its tech tree! Boom 4 problems solved... we get an actual tier 8 premium medium tank, The deve's just got there patton "family" tree, no more confusion as to why the m48 and m60 are on the same level when the m60 was better in every imaginable way! and lastly they will have made a tech tree for the m60 that makes sense! everybodys a winner!

Here are some things to remember as you pull it out of the dealer’s lot: During the break-in period, typically the first 1,000 miles (1,600 km), keep your speed under 55 mph (88 kpm) or to the speed recommended by your car’s manufacturer. Avoid heavy loads on the drive train, such as towing trailers, and loading the roof rack or trunk with heavy construction materials. Thanks
