Q: It's no secret that in the test 0.8.4, E50 depression was nerfed. Why was that?

I guess there is very little players can do with that now, although personally, I find the irony of the fact Wargaming not only makes up a tank but it does so badly the vehicle would have 0 gun depression staggering.

ReplyDeleteI wouldnt say russian tanks are OP. Many of them are outclassed by others such as americans. End tier IS series never see clanwars in favor of the T110E5 and T57. Their medium T-62A is good, but it's not OP.
ReplyDeleteI do get the feeling of an anti-german bias though. Penetration values of their guns well below what they actually produced, no viable end tier tanks save for the occasional E-100 slinging only Gold ammo. Mind you, slinging gold ammo is not a solution.
Ectar says it's only a graphical fix, which suggests that the gun will keep its current depression, but the model won't reflect it.

ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, the Su-76 has had clipping issues since beta and hasn't been "fixed" like this. I've also seen screenshots of the 263 having a similar issue today.

The strange thing is that the Object 263 also has clipping issues with the gun (the gun is also clipping the frontal part of the vehicle), but SerB and Storm said that some time ago that "this is no problem".

DeleteWell, looks like after the E-100, Maus and Jpz E-100 were made totally unusable on most occasions against the other ier tens, WG decided they have to nerf the remaining two somewhat usable top tier Germans (VK2801 and E-50M). The 2801 nerf is reasonable at least, since high tier LTs will be introduced later on, but why not nerf it when they're introduced? And seriously, first WG creates their own, fake tank, then they fail at it, and now they nerf it because they failed. Seriously, just make another imaginary turret or move the current one a little more to the front, don't destroy the last playable German Tier 10. And then they claim there's no thing such as German bias....

DeleteJust thought I'd pop in and reply to say that the fix is most certainly not just a graphical fix. Only tested the E-50M, but the lack of gun depression made fighting at ranges less than 200m on flat ground a ridiculous spazfest of desperately trying to aim at rapidly moving commanders cupolas.

If that's not some kind of elaborate trolling, I think I have enough of being treated like an idiot. I'm still grinding E-75 and Panther II is my most played tank. I was grinding crew to third skill on Leopard to transfer it to VK2801. So I think that's farewell from me.
It is a pure nerf on the gameplay. Especially the E-50. The 0 degree depression makes normal playing completely impossible, as the gun will not go down from horizontal level.
DeleteFor example, I was just in Ensk. I went to the railway and on the other end there was enemy Centurion 7. My tank was completely level and I was only able to shoot at his upper turret. Even aiming at center turret was impossible. If this goes live, E-50 will be the worst tank in the game.

DeleteYou can still go for it. Believe me when I say you can adjust yourself to the tank. Panther2 is a nice and solid tank. The Gun is just great. Play him like a Sniper and when you see a gap in the enemy lines then just go for it.

I do have even now problems with aiming down at enemys with my E50. I even had problems with aiming down at T44's in my Panther 2, if they rammed me frontal. :/
Mh, just let's see what the test says and please don't rage around WG is a company so you are the costomer and give them money. They know if they drive away the "germanlovers" ,like me :D, they'll lose many of their costumers. So they can't realy do what they want. ( just my opinion)

I find it funny that WG.net creates a tank that, as far as the only actual design drawings show, were to have rear transmission. But they switch the transmission to the front because they claim that's how it would have ended up once completed due to engineering limitations and further development. I could accept that reasoning.
ReplyDeleteBut now they go and change the tank specs to something that wouldn't even have gone into prototype stages like that. Under the guise of accurately modelling the tank according to those early design specs.
So what's it going to be?
Do you want a realistic interpretation of how the tank would have ended up when it eventually had been completed. Or do you want the tanks to be an exact copy of the only existing early design specifications of the tank?
You can't just pick the worst from both options.
