13.5.2013

- camo (summer, winter, desert) is attached to whole maps and works on them even if they have a part of them with different textures (SS: for example if a map classified as "desert" has some "summer" parts, desert camo will still work in them)
- in premium garage you can zoom out more than in the basic garage, this is intended and additional zoom won't be added to the basic garage because "walls are in the way"
- other objects than tanks can't ricochet a shell, doing so would be a waste of server resources
- in case of the subcaliber rounds for the Konisch gun - SerB states that even the silver ammo for it is historically subcaliber (instead of tungsten core it has a steel core), it was only designated as AP so people don't get confused
- post-battle chat won't be introduced because it would only serve for people to insult each other
- the main gun for the T-35 tank will most likely be the 76mm KT gun, will most likely be tier 4
- from the current tanks, the multi-turretted mechanism will be applied to M3 Lee, perhaps even to Char B1, but that is still being considered, since the Char B1 hull gun had 0 traverse (couldn't turn to sides at all)
- multi-turret mechanism will be implemented so late because it's complicated to implement
- multi-turret premium tanks will be apparently introduced all at once
- clanmates will get a separate category (in battle, in chat)
- according to SerB, damaged tracks have no influence on vehicle performance
- the option to recieve private messages only from friends will be implemented (SerB states he is looking forward to this a lot for obvious reasons)
- SerB on why he doesn't want a strict 3-per-team arty hardcap: "We don't want to implement severe matchmaking restrictions. This leads to distortions in vehicle balance (it's not possible to fix some nuances) and in matchmaker mechanism. Also, if you limit one class, it will lead to whining and calling for hardcaps for (for example) tier 8 premiums, light tanks etc. This alone is reason enough."
- making a teamkiller blue after two shots aimed at allies in a row won't be implemented - developers feel that it would lead to more "getting blue" accidents and they consider eliminating punishment for accidental teamkills more important
- SerB states that issues with tanks driving into ground textures (SS: falling thru ground, house clipping etc.) cannot be entirely avoided, but the amount of such issues dropped
- according to SerB, arty effectivity won't decrease a lot in 0.8.6
- British Shermans will be implemented ("when it's done it's done")
- according to SerB, the British didn't have any turretless TD bigger than Tortoise, so the replacement of FV215b (183) and its transfer to the turret TD branch won't happen
- one-click ignore list clean-up won't be added, according to SerB it would only help account hijackers
- E-100 will not get the "Henschel turret", because that's a fake (SS: yes, it is), IF E-100 gets a new turret, it will be the Maus-like one (it's possible that will happen), with 128mm and 150mm guns
- new crew skills will be introduced "if needed"
- the problem with captured tanks introduction is "the absence of the conditions of their introduction"
- special reward perks for archievements won't be introduced
- it's possible perks unique to each nation will be introduced
- ignore list won't apparently be made longer
- in 0.8.6, Object 261 won't have its gun traverse buffed most likely
- past archievements for killing vehicles that will have their tier moved will not be affected
- according to SerB, it's not guaranteed top arties will get new modules, but it might happen
- the option for players to disable their least popular maps has not been scrapped, but it will come "when it's done"
- Q: "How is it justified that purely German Marder I is in the French tree?" A: "Want justice? Go to Hague tribunal. Want answers? Read earlier posts." (SS: it was a purely balance decision)
- Superpershing's armored screens (spaced armor) won't be buffed, they aren't meant to serve against HEAT rounds and their thickness is sufficient to deflect most AP rounds
- KV-5 gun pen won't be buffed
- on tanks without radioman (T-62A, Leopard 1), radioman perks can be unlocked by the commander, because historically it was the commander who acted as the radioman, despite the fact a loader would be more useful with them
- SerB states that from the raging forum e-lawyers threatening to sue WG, not even one case has been brought before a court, because WG has a powerful team of lawyers while internet e-lawyers are silly (SS: SerB posted even a pretty funny picture, hard to translate)
- subcaliber core material by itself has no additional effect on penetration mechanics (SS: as in, a shell has a penetration X, regardless of what the core is made of)
- the chance for Type 59 to return into the shop is zero
- regular/free XP won't be transferrable for gold to crew XP
- in order to get a WG press account, you have to be an accredited journalist
- voice selection (as it was in patch 0.7.5) won't return
- WoT won't be ported into a browser game, as it would perform even worse than it does now
- SerB is not considering to buff/nerf the HT FV215b atm
- it's possible the B2 premium tank will appear in shops again
- random battle skill MM won't be implemented
- it's possible that when the Somua S35 gets introduced as a regular vehicle, the German premium Somua S35 gets removed from the shop, but it's also possible that when the captured tanks as a category are introduced, these previously removed vehicles will return
- it's possible the VK3002DB has too high MM weight, SerB will investigate
- experimental vehicles in game won't be replaced by "serial" ones
- Q: "Are real life tank soldiers using World of Tanks as a training software?" A: "Yeah, and the infantry gets World of Warcraft!" :)

    1. I think he meant to say that damage tracks dont lower your vehicle traverse speed, which i have tested to be true.

With damaged tracks your vehicle turns at the same rate as when you have tracks with 100% hp

      Delete
    2. Then what's the point of showing that your tracks are damaged?

      Delete
    3. That means that they have module hitpoints at the amount your crew can repair them to. For example track Health - maximum:300(green), repaired:225(yellow).
Now you will ask whats the difference, the difference is if that and that caliber needs two or one shot to track a tank. You may have noticed that sometimes you track with one shot and sometimes you need two (or even 3 if you have very small caliber).

If you do have a chance to have a look, it is putting near a Strv 103 in the Bovington, and I can tell you they are about the same size. The biggest difference is FV4401 have no armor, no roof, and only equip with a 20 pounder.

    7. You're right, the FV3807 did have Chobham armour so it is ineligible. As for the Contentious, is nowhere near Tier 10 level unfortunately, far too lightly armoured. It would make a nice premium tank though, perhaps a tier 6 or 7 tank destroyer. The planned autoloading 20 pounder could be an excellent TD gun although getting hit by a HE shell would definitely knock it out in a single hit.

  21. About Mausturm for E-100:
You seriously want to grind a turret (12 tons heavier and not exactly an improvement in protection) in addition for the tank?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Mausturm was originally planned as stock turret for E-100 but the idea was dropped before the release of the tank.
So if they add the Mausturm now, I guess it would be the stock turret, with the current turret becoming the upgrade.

      Delete
    2. The Mausturm was planned for E-100's direct predecessor, the Krupp Tiger-Maus.
E-100 was born out of Wa Pruef 6 taking the Krupp project, replacing Tiger II style suspension with Belleville-Washer packs and using a lightened Maus II turm (same shape but worse armor).

What we have in game is not historical as we got the E-100 with the original Maus II turret and not the lighter one, not to mention the mix of front transmission and 1200HP engine.

In reality the first E-100 prototype had front transmission but a 750-850HP engine, while the production (or Ausf B) would be the "Projekt B" which included a 1200HP engine and rear transmission.

      Delete
    3. Well, Zarax, you can see the Mausturm on E-100 on the releasing patch teaser of the new german tanks(Tiger P, VK4502Ausf. A, E-75, E-50 and E-100 along with Skoda T-25 and T-15).
Maybe thats why some want it on E-100.It was there, it can be there.

  26. I was trying to stop letting this game get to me but this is too much.

I will be posting this in the forums as well, Frank.

    This is from Serb, I quote;

    - E-100 will not get the "Henschel turret", because that's a fake (SS: yes, it is), IF E-100 gets a new turret, it will be the Maus-like one (it's possible that will happen), with 128mm and 150mm guns.

So, we cant have a turret that the tank leading Nation of WWII would undoubtedly have developed, but the Russians get a 122mm on the KV1s.

It is physiaclly impossible for that gun to be on the 1s, but we cant have an E75 turret w/ the Long 128?

We have the real hull, from my perspective, we can put any turret we want on it????

There is no restraint, we can put whatever turret we like on here?

You obviously did it w/ the Kv1s. That gun cannot be mounted on the KV1s.

But lets just forget that little historical note, damm those germans, they want a realistic turret for their Real tank hull.

NOT the Phucking prototype turret you Communist POS.

Are all Russians liars, or just the Cold War generation?

And "leading tank nation", please... Nation that was catching up with Allied armor until 1943, and after that, struggled to mass-produce their overly complicated and unreliable tank designs... More losses due to mechanical failures than to enemy action... says something about the quality.

It's not that other nations couldn't have built Maus or Tiger II, it's that they decided not to as it was impractical (KV-5 anyone?).

I kinda wish someone would give me five cents every time one of these pops up, I could afford a lot more Cafe Lattes in my starving student's budget that way. :/

    7. The stuff with the KV-1S not having the long 122mm gun is just name misleading.
KV-1S was a KV-1 design capable of going on faster speeds by lowering the hull armor thickness and placing a smaller turret.
It had the same armament of the KV-1/KV-85.(and thats the stock KV-1S in game)
The fully upgraded KV-1S is exactly the KV-122 mounting the IS turret and the 122m gun.

Same shit with the IS.The stock config. is the IS-1(IS-85) and the elite config. is the IS-2 with it's 122mm.

And, for those who remember, the old KV was the same.Stock config.=KV-1, elite config=KV-2.

You poped up like one of them also.
Do you really think that the high combustion rate really matter when (in ww2) 99% of the tanks were destroyed upon only one succesful penetration?
What about other countries with tanks that have/had ammo-rack behind the front plates of the hull?

      Delete
    9. I don't "pop up", I regularly lurk this blog nowadays and have a long and distinguished tradition (and thus a reputation a maintain) of mocking stupid whiners everywhere I find them.

Also I was referring to the Panther's infamous engine ventilation issues; though while we're at it the damn thing also had its ammo in the sponsons above the tracks and was duly in fact just as much of a "Ronson" as the Sherman...
      You were saying?

      Delete
    10. Oh really?. They rolled them out of factories without even testing them and those few that managed to reach battlefield still kicked ass of everything in 2km radius. They fixed it and Soviets were using Panther's engine cooling solutions in their post-war designs (among other things). It never had an exceptional conflagration ability of early model Shermans (equipped with aircraft engines and with ammo stowage bins made of "paper"). Russian could not fix engine/transmission problems on T-34s until 1943. and a lot of other issues were never resolved (it had, among other things, 4 times higher chance of catastrophic damage if penetrated than Sherman). After the war ended Soviets were desperate to get rid of them, giving them away as "gifts".

      Delete
    11. ...except when they got taken out by an AT rifle shell through the comparatively paper-thin side armour or somesuch.
Anyways when your "medium" tank has almost as much tonnage as a bloody IS it sure had better deliver something for the trouble - and for *that* much tank the Panther sure had a small gun.
And AFAIK several of the first-run Panthers were lost to engine fires while *detraining* before Kursk, so eh.

The Soviets apparently used a comparatively volatile type of propellant that tended to explode spectacularly when it "brewed up" rather than producing the extended flame jets the other armies' equivalent did. *shrug* Don't ask me why, but they probably had some kind of reson for persisting with that. Ofc ammo brew-ups tended to mean a total write-off of the tank anyway so the difference is largely academic.

As for T-34 technical issues, bitch please. The Soviets evacuated most of their heavy industry to the bloody Urals where the tanks were churned out by only too often alarmingly unskilled workers; there was apparently a period of KVs developing chronic transmission breakdown issues for a reason so banal as the ignorant labourers simply picking the raw disks from the wrong stack...
As you might imagine solving noncritical problems wasn't exactly a high priority under the circumstances. Hell, the Soviets were reluctant to alter the design *at all* unless there was an overriding need to as they wanted to avoid production slowdowns; this "design freeze" was a deliberate policy to ensure sufficient turnout while improved successor designs were being developed on the side.

      Delete
    12. Har har...They built factories there before war (with help of Americans). Technical issues were there because of poor design: "dry" gearbox, poor intake filters (shameless copy of 1920s American design), unreliable engine, Christie suspension and all its "benefits" (they switched post-war to torsion bar used by Czech/Germans) and so on...T-34 also holds a No.1 place for casualties sustained of any AFV in history: almost 80% were destroyed in 1941.-1945. Very good tank indeed!

      Delete
    13. ^
Well, it's already known that the T-34es are considered the No.1 tanks not because their "huge" power but because their numbers.A bazillion of small opponents will always defeat a small number of bigger targets.

    2. The only thing about FV215b 183 is when you hit, people crap in their pants, thats enough.

  33. "It's possible that when the Somua S35 gets introduced as a regular vehicle, the German premium Somua S35 gets removed from the shop, but it's also possible that when the captured tanks as a category are introduced, these previously removed vehicles will return."

And what with current owners of this tank? They will be allowed to keep it? Return of 1000 gold? Another premium tank instead? Does anyone knows what happen with other tanks moved from Premium to standard class?

    1. There was no premium to standard transfers in WoT so far.Only standard to premium(T34, SU-122-44 under supertest)
And the captured somua s35 is slightly different from the french s35.Same for B2 and H38.

    2. IS-6 was intended to be IS-4 replacement, not sure exactly at what point it got switched, might not have even made it to supertest.

  35. 1. What about Adler E-100 turret? Is that one "real" project or just another artists imagination?
    2. Lol there's no justice in Hague tribunal, it is wide known.

    1. The only two turrets planned for the E-100 were the Maus turm and the Maus II turm.

The Adler/Henschel turrets are both fictional postwar imagination by modelers with no real historical backing.

  36. When premium vehicles are removed from the shop, you keep the vehicles. They just aren't purchasable again until WG decides otherwise, they don't take the tanks that were purchased away from you.

  37. on this website

    http://www.chars-francais.net/new/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=110&Itemid=36

Char B1 ter, perfect replacement for B1 Bis, since current B1 is aparently one of the worst performing tanks in game, the B1 ter has superior armour and the hull 75mm has now 5º traverse to each side.

  39. - E-100 will not get the "Henschel turret", because that's a fake (SS: yes, it is), IF E-100 gets a new turret, it will be the Maus-like one (it's possible that will happen), with 128mm and 150mm guns

frank we know if this is fake and if not there are any news to implement into the game?

    1. well i also know it is fake but i would rly want to see something like this:

      1) i think that the number of players using the 12.8 is marginal so it should get scraped and playeers should have to grind 60 k xp for a gun on T10 since all T10-s come elite

      2) i rly want a alternative to the current turet but i am aware that the Maus turm also has weakneses. the fictional Henschel turm looks sexy but implementing it wouldt be the first unhistorical thing that WG implemented

and 3) will we ever se a Maus with Maus II Turm and the long 12.8

    2. Hmm E-50M is historical? Its made-up by WG, including the way how american T28 looks like and according to SS that Failöwe too.

    3. who mentioned E-50M. Nvm i know it is fake but the point remains german HTs nead a electrick shock to bring them back to their full life

No, there is also Patton3, BatChat25t and also IS4 (although for it you can get the gun from previous tank).

  40. Frank, does the E-100 turret change mean that the one we have now will be removed completely or will it be implemented similar to what was planned in 6.6? Like a stock and a researchable one? Thanks!

  41. - Superpershing's armored screens (spaced armor) won't be buffed, they aren't meant to serve against HEAT rounds and their thickness is sufficient to deflect most AP rounds

Well... at least give it a new engine, now everybody knows its weakspots and with the gold shell for credits introduction it's armor is useless now. It's disgusting to play it at the momment.

  42. "Also, if you limit one class, it will lead to whining and calling for hardcaps for (for example) tier 8 premiums, light tanks etc. This alone is reason enough."

Of course this is completely false reasoning and I'd have expected better from a professional like him.
No other tank in this game does so much damage than the average arty which is why saying there would be whining for other limitations is simply flawed reasoning. Other tanks are not a problem at all and have never been, a part form the Type59 at it's high point.
However, since CLOSED BETA the most loyal players have been asking for an arty cap of 2-3 per side per match as arty skews the matches.

  43. The Indien Panzer also has heavy tank matchmaking, which is pretty dumb IMO.

would rather be translated as: internet e-lawyers are wise enough not to go to court with such cases

  46. Sry for asking this..but are balance issues the only reason why the French get the marder? Is there at least some history behind it? I dont take this crap of an answer regarding the "hague tribunal" seriously...but I'd appreciate if someone could quickly explain or provide a link that explains the decision to give the French a purely German vehicle...thanks

    1. Ok i just read that the marder I was a conversion from a French tank of some sort. But then it was the Germans who converted and "created" a new vehicle. At least i have some link now but still. ..strange decision!
