So, after the long and dramatic soap opera (SP nerf announced, Storm says there will be no nerf, SerB says there will probably be nerf and then they both said it's being discussed), it has been decide that
there will be no Superpershing nerf.
Personally, I think it's a good decision.
SerB Fail , Storm Win!

DeleteSoap Opera = awesome though it's kinda annoying there was a Soap opera for a Premium Tank...
ReplyDeleteIn b4 SerB ninja nerfs it just to fuck with everyone.
ReplyDeleteSo Sp gets a buff actually because of normalization... and will be even more bouncier...
ReplyDeleteWhy do you need to shoot at SP with HEAT or APCR?
Delete@anon- and its gun will be correspondingly weaker (with APCR).
DeleteBesides, the turret weakspots are just as easy to hit and weak enough to penetrate with any decent gun.
Very happy they didn't nerf it.

SP deserves its armor. It is slow, poorly armed, and its armor covers only the front. With all honesty: SP is the last tank for nerfing...
ReplyDeleteThat being said: if its armor is inaccurate then they should find something other, similarly inaccurate, to buff the tank. A trade-off instead of nerf.
Good. They would have had to have done weird crap like giving it an artificially better engine, lower track friction, and possibly buffing its gun to regular M26 levels of performance [and proceed to simply remove the M26's gun and give it the new buffed version of this one] to compensate for its loss of armor.
ReplyDeleteAnd purpose of regular M26 would be?
DeletePurpose of the regular M26 is to go faster than 20 kilometers per hour.
Delete"our opinion is important/counting to them? ok, now THAT is irony at its finest ;-)
ReplyDeletebut finally, wether its the community's deed or not, sp stays at is is!
Dont worry they will scretly ninja nerf it in some later updates just when some grass has grown.

ReplyDeletesome explaining about these missions:)
Dont care, SP is the tank i love to hug or play peek-a-boo. Those roll pins on its head are a great weakspot.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteNerfing a tank that doesn't need nerf was stupid idea anyway.
NOOOOO, NERF the hell out of that already POS "tank"
ReplyDeleteIf you can't hit the weak spots after the accuracy buff your a bad.
DeleteI think I would have been happy to trade historical armor (along with nerf to gold rounds) for a historically harder hitting gun.... But I'm not going to complain about this result.

SS you posted somewhere recently that WG only has 1 spaced armor plate on the upper glacis in terms of hitboxes. How about giving the SP its historical armor layout but modelling a second spaced armor plate on the upper hull as it exists in real life? By the new penetration mechanics losing 5% (or whatever it is) every 10cm (again or whatever it is) do you think those changes would cancel each other out to make it roughly equal to our current unhistorical setup?

I honestly think it should have happened. Not because of the waves of whining brats because their invincible armor has become ever-so-slightly less effective, but because it would have been historic. The Pershing never had it's frontal hull armor angled at around 55-60 degrees.
