It's the American M1921 medium tank. Designed in 1921 at the Rock Island Arsenal plant, it was tested at Aberdeen in February 1922. It had a British cable and suspension track design and used several engines (from 220hp Murray-Tregurtha to 338hp V12 Liberty), allowing it to go as fast as 26 km/h (16 km/h with weaker engine). It weighted 18,6 tons and was armed with a contemporary British 6pdr (57mm), along with a 30cal MG. The armor values I haven't found, but they most likely are very thin.
This vehicle never got to be manufactured, but the American engineers - as mentioned in the video - gained valuable experience from its design. In World of Tanks, it might appear around tier 2 (3, if SerB feels sadistic).
Edit: just a "reminder": this is NOT the M1921 "Christie" tank, that appeared in the earlier versions of the full American tree as a part of Christie tanks. That's a different vehicle with the same name.

That's the only holdup in my mind too, although technically the Tetrarch, while implemented as lend-lease, is British, and they just emptied the design guns on low tier German and Russian tanks. I just can't see them putting this in as a tier 2-3 premium - when was the last time they sold a premium that low tier that wasn't arty?

Very, very ugly. It's one giant weakspot. I think SerB was in a really bad/troll mood when he decided to introduce this into the game.

ReplyDeleteI actually happen to have the armor values for this tank. At its thickest it was 1 inch (25.4 mm) and at its thinnest (on the engine deck to be exact) was 3/8 inches (9.5mm). This is all coming from Hunnicutt's book on the Sherman

ReplyDeleteThat is modern 6pdr, this one is adopted late 19th century naval 6pdr/57mm Hotchkiss L/40 (later cut down to L/26 for better handling over rough terrain) which was mounted in first British tanks. It had way worse ballistics then WW2 6pdr gun.
