30.3.2013

The biggest news of the day is the sacking of the EU supertesters I suppose. That will make a few people... unhappy (check the previous post).

Anyway as for today's news:

- it's possible the shell velocity for each shell and gun will be made public (disclosed, for now it's secret)
- regarding the IS-3 model "fix" from the unofficial patchnotes: Wargaming fixed the "overhang" above the mantlet
- the US premium TD will be implemented, but not fast - Storm states they have no patch to put it in, as all patches already are full (SS: as in they have their content decided)
- the point in the 3001, 3601 etc. tank names (SS: earlier VK3601, now VK36.01) was added because it's historical (SS: the first number indicates the prototype weight in tons, the second is the version of the prototype)
- ST-I model was checked, it's correct
- Durchbruchwagen is still planned for tier 5, will be implemented later
- premium tanks tier 9 and 10? "No"
- the details about the tier 10 "reward" tanks (Object 907, M60, Failowe) will be published later
- the fate of Panzer IV Hydro is not yet decided
- the XP needed to level up the light German tanks will be reviewed, wait with XP decisions until the patch test
- you can't get a defender medal by killing a capper after the base was fully captured
- water does not diminish the effect of a HE shell, it's also not planned
- there is a hidden parameter "quality of the suspension" in the game, that affect the vehicle performance

    1. Perhaps you can buy it during the 2nd anniversary event of WoT? At least I hope so.

  2. Wargaming?? You reading??

Guess this wasn't an EU tester?

Since they no longer get any ST emails or news...??

    GO GO WG!!

  3. All important statistics are hidden values....they can make one tank suck so hard and other to be so OP just based on these hidden stats....add to that that retarded 25% +/- random and voila...you have totally random game where luck is the key factor in many situations...fuck the skill when we can make noob friendly game for those noobs who are paying us the moneh...

  4. premium tanks tier 9 and 10? "No", glad they decide it that way, i am so tired of fighting along side a new player who had just like 10-20 battle and later on make a purchase of tier 8 premium tank, due to low experience they cost me most of the match. same thing everytime.....

  6. ...so does #2 mean Tier 6s will no longer shoot right through that damn ramp above the IS-3's gun, or Something Entirely Different?

Also just caught my eye, but #12... wouldn't water, if anything, only *increase* HE effect anyway seeing as how shockwave propagates better in a denser medium? :/

    1. No.. water dissipates energy, you have to "move the water" so any explosive damage is lessened.

    2. Shells act weird in water, they may break up on impact and not explode too...

    3. @Trollin: I doth believe submarines, depth charges and torpedoes fused to go off under ships disagree with you. Strongly.
As do HESH shells and the "earthquake bombs" the RAF used back in WW2.
(Conversely explosives are sorta useless in vacuum as all they have to transmit the shockwave with is their own combustion gasses...)

@Anon: kind of assuming detonation here, obviously. :/

    4. Completely wrong. Water is incompressible which means it can transfer explosion energy better than air because no energy is loss.

  7. "regarding the IS-3 model "fix" from the unofficial patchnotes: Wargaming fixed the "overhang" above the mantlet"
That "overhang" that could be penetrated by almost everything, despite angle that would suggest auto-bounce? Well it was good while it lasted. What is strange about IS-3 is that lower glacis started to deflect my 88 L/71 shells few patches back, while upper glacis (pike nose) is easily penetrated now. Not to mention this extreme annoying side spaced armour. One time I put 10 88L/56 shells into IS-3 side at point blank, all penetrated, only 2-3 damaged. Annoying, but while L/56 I can understand L/71 also tends to do this. If would only be fair if spaced armour was displayed in armour schemes and shots penetrating only one layer of the armour should count as non penetrating.

Nope. Turret roof is still 20 mm.

  8. About Object 907, M60, Failowe:
The Supertesters already have them right ? (Think it was you [Silentstalker] who said this.)
Does that mean they will come with 8.5 ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. only sort of... Supertesters will have them on their RU accounts for public mass testing... not you...

      Delete
    2. Definitely not. They will only be tested.

    3. Yep, read the "8.5 Patch notes" Post again.
      Stupid question...

  9. Is there anyone else by chance who thinks RU251 will become a T8 Premium tank? I mean, why shouldn't it be in the tree otherwise.

    1. My guess we will see high level light tanks along with tier 10 arty, so they will balance it.

    2. I hope it will be a normal tier 8 light tank, with at least OK stats.

  11. With the teir 10 tanks, I really hope they make them avaliable to the non clanwars players. Whilst drinking tea (so its by default a brain wave)I thought that maby you could get the option to buy one with credits (price at 7mill) every time you reach 5 teir 10 tanks, so for example you can choose one at 5 (teir 10s) then at 10, and then at 15??

Almost like a seperate tree system thing?

  12. Any guesses for the T8 US prem TD SS or anyone? Especially the gun interests me as I find both German and Russian Tier 8TDs better than the US ones in the gun dept.

    1. Noone says it's going to be tier 8, mate. Also, I have absolutely no idea, I never was really interested in American designs.

    2. T88 is Hellcat with 105mm howitzer, so I guess tier 6.
There is also potential M36B1 which is M36 turret on M4A3 Sherman hull, again not much more then tier 6, maybe 7.
Then there are few obscure prototypes that could fit tier 4-5 and 6-7-maybe 8.

    3. What about the TS-5 from Hunneycutt's FIrepower page 170? It would easily fit T8. There are other potential high tier versions there as well.

  13. According to Wot rules if your gun`s caliber is 3x higher than armor plate then it cant bounce.

You mean those stats which should have been public right from the start, you bastards?

  16. Just a little suggestion about VK names, in this case "tochka" should be translated as "dot", not "point".

lel, decoding the gun xmls already reveals it, unless there's also a serverside value (i even put the velocities in the official wiki E-50 article heehee)

Got an infraction for posting Type-59 suspension values for in the forum though :F

  19. I'm thinking now regarding the "active suspension" that is going to be "used" when Havok system gets implemented soon..

I've noticed when you actually drive over a railway line and your track touches the other side and you stop your tank dead.
When you switch over to sniper view I get that my gun still moves up and down like the tank is trying to balance itself on the track?
Even though when you zoom out you can clearly see everything looks fine?

I wonder if Havok will actually fix this, or will i get a 14day ban :P
