Storm answers regarding the E50/E50M nerf:
Q: "Why did you nerf the E50/E50M depression?"
A: "So the gun doesn't clip with the hull"
Q: "And how are we supposed to play it now?"
A: "The old depression will return in the following test round"
The want was the point of the whole thing? O_o
ReplyDeleteWell, it was a test. Maybe the point was to test how bad the players will rage :)
DeleteProbably yes, they wanted to see how many "germanlovers" their community contains and how fast they notice the "nerf" + how large the shitstorm gets :D
Deletelol i'm a german lover from italy, waiting for the medium t10 of italy branch =)
Deletewell i^m checking different games. if i found one bye bye. this wot political crazyness i can´t handle mutch longer.
Delete>Well, it was a test. Maybe the point was to test how bad the players will rage :)
DeleteMission Accomplished!!!! The rage was pretty brutal, and Serb answering trolling was even worst.
"So the gun doesn't clip with the hull"
DeleteSo physical plausibility only exist to piss players off?
> well i^m checking different games. if i found one bye bye. this wot political crazyness i can´t handle mutch longer.
DeleteIt's already out there and it's called War Thunder
I just think that the russians havent gotten over the war yet

ReplyDelete:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
The most sensible suggestion I've seen: they're using this to push another nerf on the tanks, assuming the players will be so glad they've got their depression back, they'll be ok with whatever they do.
ReplyDeleteso what doe a "new" turret for the E50 need?
ReplyDeleteA higher silhouette to not hit the tank itself?
The turret of the E50M would need a optic for the gunner, now he would see "a shit".;)
I don't buy that excuse at all, this just seems like them back tracking because of the uproar it has cost. If they planned to fix the clipping problem while keeping the gun depression, why would you reduce the gun depression to zero first? Surely you would makes changes to the model first, test it first and then alter the gun depression if needed in the second phase of the test.
ReplyDeleteBut even if they really want to "fix" this problem with such stupid idea, then atleast write it in some sentence for the community; why? what's the goal? is this a final decision?
DeleteI start to think they really enjoy when german fans are on rage... They have something stupid idea in every month, so unprofessional from a company who start to buy other game developers and won a golden joystick...
Communication with their player base definitely isn't Wargaming's strong point, that's for sure...
DeleteI've never been to keen on saying that they have bias towards Russian tanks, or anything like that. When they do stuff like this you? It makes me really start to question that.
Make no mistake this is eastern/RU culture at its best... They earn hundreds of millions, they employ hundreds of people - yet they act like a dorky and slightly drunk streetcorner merchant selling cabbages.
DeleteGlad they didn't went full derpmode on this
ReplyDelete.
.
For now >.> *cowers in fear*
I'm not sure I trust that response. It almost seems to me that it says that it will be returned to normal in the test round, but reduced back to nothing in release.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so, but Your comment speaks volumes about the trust (or maybe lack thereof) for WGN and their credibility (or lack thereof).
DeleteI have 123 battles with my E-50M, my platoon mate w00t_tK has 549 battles, and my other platoon mate afoaa has 68 battles - yet we have never encountered this 'bug' ... personally I think they are just lying through their teeth, because they want players to grind other T10 mediums instead, thus spending more gold on converting XP.
ReplyDeleteHaving worked for games industry in the past, I think the most likely scenario is as follows: A graphics designer notices this clipping => decides to "fix" it by limiting gun depression => game goes to test => rest of dev team finds out about the "fix" by the uproar on the forums
ReplyDeleteThere's no point in seeing maliciousness where incompetency is a sufficient explanation.
Yeah there is no point, to err is human.... but just in case: can we see that designer beheaded publicly in front of the Minsk WG office?
DeleteThats why i like Wargaming. If some dev like DICE did this and the community raged, their answer would be : "fuck you community, we know better. Stays our way!" - DICE/EA.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile WG tried to test this. Community didnt liked it. WG gently abandoned it, Way to go!
Are you some kind of wg personnel??? Don't you see the "hate" in the gift shop offers? The hate towards premium ammo for credits??
DeleteI start to wonder if this completely lunatic gun depression nerv is just a well played sham to distract people away from the similar lunatic VK 2801 speed and handling nervs.
ReplyDeleteUhm, where did I put my tinfoil hat?
The Vk28 is still playable... On the other hand Luchs and Leo is completely fucked over.
ReplyDeleteI rather think it's the other way around.
DeleteNew Luchs on the test server seemed pretty decent to me - fast, agile (though with poor grip and a tendency to skid) and with a gun that has low DPS and precision, but enough penetration to potential damage everything it faces.
The 3cm gun is insufficient on the Leo's tier, but the tank at least has good handling and great view range now.
The VK on the other hand seemed pretty underwhelming to me. Getting damaged once on T10 is usually game over, and the nerv in HP/t didn't really help the survivability.
If WG has a problem with the derp gun they should nerv the gun and be done with it.
"a gun that has low DPS and precision, but enough penetration to potential damage everything it faces."
ReplyDeleteThere is no such gun for the Luchs, and when facing t6-7 all the options are simply pathetic...
What about the depression of the E75's gun? Is there any word on whether that will be rolled back as well?
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware there was anything wrong with it.
DeleteI got it from this post
DeleteWas the quoted information in that post correct (about the changes to the E75's depression limit changes), or wasn't the E75 touched yet?
ReplyDeleteSo they nerf the tank over something cosmetic? What kind of bullshit is that!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI was pulled back from an attempt at suicide by the thought of my loving and caring family. I decided to give my life one more chance and visited a psychiatrist. With the help of the medicine he prescribed me, Seroquel Generic, I have successfully overcome the state of depression and am now living a happy life.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post. I'm especially interested in your comments about depression will return. That must have been extremely possible. but I am so allergic to poison ivy that I have to be careful. I got some really good tips from reading your blog. thanks for sharing.
