3.6.2013

- currently, the spare tracks attached on the armor have no influence on armor thickness, because theoretically after first hit they'd have to fall off. The developers will first implement client physics (spare tracks falling off after being hit) and then will rethink the whole issue
- Q: "I heard a rumor that you will change the Maus frontal turret armor from 240mm to historical 250mm, is it true?" A: "The truth is that historical frontal turret armor thickness was 210-240mm" and "You can go to Kubinka and measure it yourself - simple as that :)"
- apparently, weakened armor zones after being hit by a shell to that spot won't be implemented
- Q: "Regarding the Superpershing issue, how many people would have to lift their voices for developers to consider their opinion?" A: "Well, I think 5 percent of active users would make us at least pay attention to the issue. That's like - 500 thousand. As in: get 500 thousand signatures."
- SerB confirmed that new reward system is being tested (as in special rewards for archievements), it won't be however active on regular basis
- SerB regarding the question, whether 112 (which is really good on supertest) will be nerfed after it comes out: "If we make a mistake, we fix it. If we don't, we don't. Simple as that."
- SerB can't promise, what the number of HAVOK patch will look like, whether it will be one of the 0.8.X series, or 0.9
- dynamic collision model will come hand in hand with its visual respresentation (SS: As an example, if a part of original hitbox "falls off" using Havok (for example a piece of box, or external tanks), the hitbox will change too"
- tanks with shell ejectors won't have any special bonus for that, it will be counted in the vehicle's overall characteristics
- apparently, the ground resistance for hard, medium and soft soils (as in: good, medium, bad terrain) is roughly (in ratio of) 1,2,5
- drowned tanks can't be shot at, because developers consider their full destruction (all modules gone) sufficient
- basically, SerB confirmed GW Tiger P is a fake - he confirmed they basically used the development order for 210mm mortar Elefant and rough dimensions of the vehicle to deduce it was an artillery vehicle (more on that here).
- in connection with midtier derp nerf, midtier HE shells will not be buffed
- improved ventilation for M53/55? "Tests will show"
- regarding the aforementioned client physics implementation, it's being worked on, it will work so that for example Schmalturm Panzer IV's mesh side armor (Schurzen) will fly off after being hit, it's possible that after its implementation, there will be additional armor implemented, such as sandbags
- SerB on Superpershing nerf (if there will be any): "Tests will show" - SerB also states that after the HEAT and APCR shell changes, Superpershing's armor was actually increased (SS: and thus he implies that armor nerf would actually bring it to pre-8.6 level of protection)
- US T71 was chosen for a number of reasons (SS: nothing specific), as for T92 implementation: "no comment"
- there are no plans to introduce the possibility to actually sell garage slots, for silver or for gold
- T23 to return? "no comment" (SS: a few days back there was an interesting post on US forum: one of the players was ranting on how he wants the T23 back as a premium vehicle, on which The_Chieftain (US developer) replied: "I know something he doesn't know....  But I'm not allowed to tell")

So, does this mean that if you shoot by example the spaced armor you can blow up the first layer of armor and the next shots will have to pen just one layer?
EX: You shoot a SP in the LFP. Does the first sheet of metal gets destroyed? So next time you'll have to pen just 2 layers instead of 3?

    1. Note: I'm not expecting to blow up the entire first sheet of metal, just a part of it.

    2. Note2: If you blow up the 2 frontal layers of armor, and the turret added armor on the SP, i'm also expecting the tank to receive a pretty big buff in speed...It's lighter after all

    3. I think Superpershing is unlikely to have this, because the plates were welded tight. Schurzen and other improvised appliqué armor systems were usually just screwed to place.

    4. Awww, but maybe if the gun caliber is big enough (ex BL10) maybe that could blow off part of the spaced armor, while anything below 100mm has no chance to mess up the spaced armor.
Dunno how tight they could weld some armor, but i'm pretty sure that if the gun is good enough it could (should) "un-weld" it.

    5. I think a quote from the same article could answer your question:
"apparently, weakened armor zones after being hit by a shell to that spot won't be implemented"
Anyway, the possibility to weaken armor would have been a nice addition...

I want R2D2 to fall off - then KV5 will be invincible :D

    1. This would apply for all cupollas :) Well, it would be a nice thing anyway:)
Kv5 has more than just one weakspot :D and anyway, the R2D2 would require more than 2-3 shells to get blown off....i mean...it's pretty big

    2. I wonder - radio man is in that MG cupola.
Radio man - in MG cupola.
      WTF is he doing there?
And will we finally see how he looks like?
      Probably like a zombie :D

    3. Not the spot i would want to got to war in....

    4. Better than in Sherman - one hit and tank goes *poof*.
And in war they probably would hit turret and not MG cupola.

    5. I always wondered: Does the radioman on the KV-5 lags behind while skilling up the crew?
By ex the other 4 crew members will reach 98% and the radioman is somewhere at 90%

As far as i know if a crew member dies he won't get any exp...

    6. Almost all hull machine-gunners the were radio operator. Germans were among the first to pioneer that because it took some of the extra workload off the commander.

    7. On my KW-5 the radioman is just like the other crewmembers. Simple explanation: the tank is always ekited and the least trained crewmember always gets double XP.

    8. KW-5? Is that some downgraded polish version of KV-5 with 37mm cannon?

    9. No its normal KV-5 writed properly in slavic languages.

    10. Isn't it КВ-5?

    11. Depends what alphabet you use.

    12. Plasot: what other slavic languages use W instead of V? :)

      Delete
    13. I am german and we too use "W" for the cyrillic "B".

      Delete
    14. D86: well, that makes sense (as you pronounce V differently than W), imho Poles use W because of Germans :)

    15. KV - Klim Voroshilov, КВ - Клим Ворошилов.

"imho Poles use W because of Germans :)"

Well, you're hilariously wrong. I can't fathom how could anyone come up with such a ridiculous idea, when the real answer is so painfully obvious - 'V' simply doesn't exist in polish alphabet.

    17. I have to post like this sometimes because when I am away from regular computer is easier.

I masturbated to the thought of eating SerB's dung after tonguing his bunghole and cock. I can't wait to lick the area between his ass and balls. After I read this later, I can;t believe how gay I really am.

      Thanks for listening.

  4. So SerB finally caved in regarding the fake GW Tiger P. Will this be a stop to more fake tanks, or can we expect many more?

    1. How about making GW-panther to tier 8 and squeez some of the new arties into between. Then GW-panther would get less nerfed. Current GW-panther = tier 8 machine.

      Delete
    2. There are enough Panther-based artillery proposals for that purpose.

As for the GW Tiger (P), it's definitely a fake.
Germans wanted an assault gun for demolishing street barriers, not an artillery and the first plan called basically for a more powerful version of the SIG 33b.

The very first proposal called for an heavily armored assault gun, armed with a captured french heavy howitzer which I located in the 22cm Morser (f) M 14 or Mortier de 220 mm Mle 1916, basically a recycled WWI weapon, used on carriage near Leningrad.

  5. Apparently, the Churchill VII has tracks acting as spaced armour, but only the ones on the side of the turret.

    3. He means tracks which make your tank move not tracks added to hull or turrets.

      Delete
    4. Yes, i meant tracks on the tank not those hanging at tank's sides...you also asked that in your post but i misunderstood it :/

    1. The link is dead, but I think I know the one you are talking about, it was an image of a players garage after battle report that showed he had been awarded a T2 light premium tank. This would be an interesting development, depending on how hard they are to obtain. Hopefully, if you already own one, you get a gold reward instead. As for the tier 10's, this might be a reward from it, but I guess the requirements would be damn hard, considering only about 5k players are getting the Clan Wars one.

    2. Yep, if you have one, you will get 750 gold. Still belive they won't nerf those tasks. xD
