Storm on 0.8.6

Source: http://world-of-kwg.livejournal.com/195897.html

Basically, what he wrote is that we can expect some more "bombshells" of the "same magnitude", as the stuff revealed today in the patch 0.8.6, that will be revealed next week. Storm mentions changes "game economy and balance".

As always, Storm was (well, is even at this moment) posting in the comments. Info from those comments:

- these changes will be uncovered the following week
- Komarin and Swamp is atm in the process of re-work (won't come in 0.8.6 apparently)
- camo values for tanks won't ever be disclosed
- SU-5 won't have bigger ammo capacity - quite the contrary, WG will make it smaller, but the shell damage will be buffed
- reworked fire extinguishers won't come in 0.8.6
- the economy changes will "hurt"
- Storm would like to tell the players more, but this info has to be published steadily because of translations etc.

Most probably cuz they dont want people to know how even worse bad camo german tanks will have starting 8.6.

And i hope they give us independent suspension already, cuz im fucking tired by the tracks clipping through objects and slowing the tank completely.

    1. The whole universe always conspires to make German tanks worse, that's the hidden and ultimate reason beyond all natural phenomena.

    2. i dont get it, why WG is so reluctant to reveal camo values, its not like the world would end if they uncover it

      this is simply ridiculous...

    3. i read some time ago, that a revealing of camo values would only generate butthurt among players, same goes with specific module damage of guns.
I guess he's somewhat right, seriously, i think russian bias WAS an issue, but sometimes it flames up when a t-62a or an object 268 vanishes into thin air right before your eyes at approx. 100m.

    4. Are you sure only T-62A and Object 268 variants do that?

    5. obj 263 also...

    6. What you expect from WG when in their game HEAVY tank like IS-3 is almost smaller than lots of light tanks?

It was there from start this game the old schemes of camo bonusses proved how deeply Ger have bad camo while Rus have THE BEST.

Just look on this old camos:

      http://www.planetwot.com/infoCamo/#gertd

and compare JagdPanther (T7) with much bigger ISU-152 bonuses

So you can make very clear picture abou WHY WG DONT WANNA PUBLISH CAMO INFO.

    7. Actually WG is not publish those, because these stats has no meaning. The other stats has meaning, but this one not.
      horsepower:500hp > your engine has 500 horsepower
      top speed:40 > the vehicle's maximum cruising speed is 40 km/h
aim time:2.7sec > it takes 2.7 seconds for your aiming circle to get 3 times smaller
      etc.
      camo:1.5, 3.2 or 13.6 ... what? What the hell is that number? 13.6 Beaver/inch?
It can't be described, because it's just a number created by WG. You can't find the camo values of an M48 on wikipedia...

Actually camo values are quite nicely mined from tanks... There was one site which I had deleted in cleanings of my WoT related sites. And it showed exactly how much the value did change the spotting distance. It is very straight forward value.

If I just would find the site again, but to no avail... it was google.doc ... It might also have become invitation only, which is why I deleted... should had copied it when had the access.

But overall it showed the value tanks had, it is direct reduction from viewrange of observing tanks. Nothing odd. There is 3 values; Still, Moving, After shot. And believe me... the numbers where very outrageous.

    9. One of the tanks I remember disappearing in plain sight the most is the Hetzer. That thing must have incredible camo rating. It's not like some German tanks doesn't have great camo. It's just that your observation bias is making you blind.

  2. I mean in training room u can do tests and get sperimental value really close to real one so it's fine.

    1. It already is an elitist game and this is exactly the contrary of what this game needs.

    2. with some luck wg will remove the team reward and add more dmg reward

    3. It's to balance the increased income TD's and SPG's are getting, as well as the extra income from tracking vehicles for allies. Of course, to balance those out, they hit everyone harder.

  4. Please let the other news be the already talked SOUND ENGINE OVERHAUL!! we need better sounds. The actual ones are just plain dumb and no very unique at all.

  5. the economy changes will "hurt"

i really dont like the sound of that wonder if they are just going to make you need a premium account/vehicle just to get out of tier 5

    1. I'm sure they will make Tier 10's even less profitable in hopes of discouraging lower skilled players. I can't 'farm' credits with my 10's, but so far I also don't drive at a loss. We shall see...

    2. What if they left tier 10 alone but hit tiers 5 and 6 to decrease silver farming in those tiers to encourage more people to buy premium tanks?

      Delete
    3. My guess is that the gold economy is going to "improve", meaning better gold to silver conversion and cheaper premium tanks. "Hurt" means "butthurt" players who already sold the farm to play tanks. SerB has already told us whiners where we can shove it, especially when it comes to new lower pricing and XP requirements.

    4. Or maybe they will award contribution more and punish in competence more , So much so that suiscouts and afkers and botters are not able to advance in tiers

  6. Imagine they set up a 50k repairs for tier X and +500 credits to all shells price hahahah

  7. "game economy and balance"
a big surprise would be module wear. So after some thousand shots you have to replace your gun and it gets more unaccurate every few shots :D
An older engine has a bit less power...

  8. - Komarin and Swamp is atm in the process of re-work (won't come in 0.8.6 apparently)
Thats getting typical. These 2 maps better be so much different than orginals if they keep postponing them.

    - SU-5 won't have bigger ammo capacity - quite the contrary, WG will make it smaller, but the shell damage will be buffed
You must be joking. I ran out ammo with that arty almost in every battle. That damage better be so much better then.

  9. The economy changes will hurt?

I believe WoT is P2W already, since imo premium ammo gives you a significant edge in the game and its constant usage can only be funded with a premium account and/or premium tanks - the few players not benefitting from it or being able to fund it with standard account and tanks do not change that.

I bet that the changes will be of the kind making a premium obligatory at least when playing tanks of higher tiers.

So WoT will probably going P2W even more.

    4. It's as far from P2W as it can be. I have a 60% solo win rate, I enjoy all of my battles and I've never put any money in the game. In fact I' gonna go thank the devs by buying a tier 8 premium tank right now.

Go play EA games if you want to see real P2W.

  10. Come on guys... whatever they plan, it won't be as big as they want us to think. If changes were really spectacular, patch would be called 0.9.0.

  11. thought it was said that the devs were happy with the games eco..
