1.4.2013

Just to be clear, I consider "official" trolling on 1st April totally retarded - what's the point of trolling someone when everyone knows you're gonna get trolled that day? This post is thus free of any troll attempts... well, at least attempts from me :) Nah, just kidding, I skipped all the troll answers. TBH, I don't somehow think it's even funny.

- at this moment it is not decided whether the client physics will be optional as a whole, or you'll be able to tweak them by switching off parts of it (such as: suspension - yes, physics object destruction - no, etc.), still too early to tell, experiments are ongoing
- unlimited ignore list won't come and it won't be made client-side, because there would be a problem if you switched computers
- chat won't be separated from combat commands ("don't screw up - you won't get chatbanned")
- low tier arty balance is working normally according to SerB
- when the arty branches are expanded to tier 10, the top arty MM spread will generally change to match the one of the tier 10, but it's too early to tell how exactly will the arty MM look and how much will the top arties get their stats changed
- more tier 8 premium meds won't come anytime soon and in the long run - unknown for now. Soviet premium T7 med is still planned, but no details.
- it's not yet known what will happen to premium arty when the arty branch is expanded to T10 (connected with MM spread changes), but devs might find a solution without buffing/nerfing the premium arty
- skill MM not planned ("dear moderators, can you permaban people asking this?")
- SerB states that unspecified members of an unspecified royal family are playing World of Tanks (SS: earlier it was mentioned that it's a prince of Jordan or something)
- an ammo rack can actually be destroyed by setting a tank on fire (the shell that sets the tank on fire also damages the ammorack, which then drops to 0 by the flame damage), but it's very rare
- it is not planned to make a forum ban extend into the game and vice versa, but a unified account ban for all WG projects is considered
- the observer mode in training rooms is not planned to be made accessible to public, as far as SerB knows
- various servers in RU cluster have different power - the best servers are RU1 and RU2, the newest is the weakest
- smoke (generated by tanks) will be implemented at some point, SerB wanted it from the start, but visibility recalculation connected to dynamic elements has not been implemented yet, it's being worked on. It will be a server-side thing (SS: in order for hackers not to abuse it), server will simply consider smoke an "obstacle" and will not send data to the vehicles behind it
- top vehicles for the T-34M/A-43 branch? "no comment for now"
- the clanwars interface will most likely not be implemented into the game itself, according to SerB, the functions themselves are more important
- new chat system will be first tested on WoWp, might contain a fuction to purge the whole ignorelist at once
- weather effects have nothing to do with Havok
- T10 arty changes will most likely not be published before proper patchnotes
- during the arty T10 patch, there will be no "free" vehicles with 100 percent crews, or free garage slots
- USB authenticator to make accounts more secure will most likely not be developed
- the "distance travelled" in debriefing is not planned to be rewarded when reaching a certain number (SS: there was a suggestion it would reduce camping)
- it's "not excluded" that the British arty "speciality" will be high penetration of HE shells
- if I understand it correctly, British arty branch will have both high-alpha and low-alpha vehicles, there will also be very mobile and slow vehicles
- VK2801 owners will get no compensation for the XP requirement reduction

    1. I think you'll be disappointed, that 85mm gun doesn't have much of a moneymaking potential

    2. low dmg = low money making potential

    3. as long as it meets with the 85mm gunvalues of t43 and is a bit speedier while worse in terms of durability and armor i guess i can enjoy it.

Let it be maxtier-capped to be max t8 and it can get my fav. Premtank and a must-have :)

    4. T-44-1 prototype:
      75mm @ 60deg glacis
      75mm @ 0deg sides
      115mm turret front
      75mm turret side
      85mm D-5T or S-53 gun

Compared to T-43 front armor is better, gun is worse then top one, mobility might be better..

    5. Right, they moved it to T7... could be T-44-1. If it was a T8, I'd definitely say "T-44A".

    aaaa... :(

    although it's quite reasonable.

Blah at least I'll get some money from selling a higher tier arty when the patch comes out :3

Do u think its possible t10 artys actually get buffs, making them even more powerful?

Im very curious how the t10 arty patch will look like, they are working on it for quite some time now.
It could be a big win and solving all those arty relating issues. But theres still the chance they screw it up and make it even worse, simple because its wg doing it...

    Oh got please no
This game certainly does not need Artillery with HE shells that have 300 pen

    1. imagine obejct 261 shooting HE shells with 340 penetration.. and having an autoloader [ IF I remember well, they've said that there might be even autoloaders ].

It sounds scary, doesn't it? xD

      Delete
    2. if the damage will be capped at 400?
i wont sound that scary anymore...

well but it would spoil the use of premium comsumables to repair your engine ammorack and turret at once after the first arty-penetration-hit.

    3. Serb sed they would implement the FV4005 for top tier british arty (see answers for 18.2.2013 ), which would mean the same gun as the FV215b has but with an autoloader. So 183mm HESH with 275mm pen raining from the skies, doesn't that sound fun. completely wrong if WG want accuracy - the FV4005 was intended to fulfil the exact same role as the 215b, just with less armour.

    4. I think if the british arty is going to have high penetration, they should also give it high accuracy (i'm talking 0.35) with very bad alpha / rate of fire and no autoloader. Think about arty that doesn't do much damage but is specialized in shooting weakspots or tracking tanks in the open. That would definitely be an interesting concept, and one i'd be keen on seeing.

  7. lol, what would T10 arty could possible fix?
main problem is that there are to many arties, no change weather t8 or t10........
some other way has to be fund i think!
But let's see what comes, but i have no hopes at all that t10 arty will fix anything in high tier battles!

    1. IMO, the idea they have is like this -
right now there is a lot of concentration of arty in tiers 6-8,
but the most games that happen are around tiers 4-7, so all those 6-8 arties wait in queue, as they can get only in t8-10 games. Since there are a lot of those arties, you get a huge number of them in every high tier game.

Introducing t10 arties will widen the spread of available arties for the mm, a lot more arties will be available for t4-7 games, thus less arties for t8-10. A good analogy I can think of would be, how you fight traffic jams with the creation of more road lanes, you have the same number of cars, but the car flow becomes more even.

Nope. "Trolling" isn't synonymous with "joking" nor "lying", why is that so hard for normalfags to grasp?

    5. Funny thing is, the concept isn't a complete Ass Pull; apparently experimental "wheelform" vehicles (which is what you usually see that configuration called) really *were* built in the Forties. Those were about motorcycle sized, mind you, but unsurprisingly people were soon fantasizing about heavily armed and armoured "war wheels"... while much of the "Spherical Tanks" article reads like obvious trololol the technical side sounds like it may well be based on real theoretical studies.

You run into the basic concept in some "nar-future scifi" contexts these days (as high-tech motorcycles), but it already pops up in Steve Jackson Games' "GURPS Vehicles Expansion 1" (where it's listed as "Late TL6", ie. ww2-era, tech) and "GURPS Weird War" (which is a treasure trove of *real* out-there wartime projects on top of the fantasy "dieselpunk" and straight-out occult stuff) which came out in the early 2000's. And SJG is usually on the ball on obscure shit like this. See, for example, this gem which I first learned of in the latter book...

    6. On that note, can anyone make sense out of that weird technical drawing in the SHT-1A article?
      http://wiki.worldoftanks.ru/%D0%A8%D0%A2-1%D0%90
It rather obviously depicts a vehicle quite unlike the April Fools one - notably no turrets stuck to the sides or the top, but MG positions firing directly out of the flanks - but seems rather elaborate and detailed for a wholesale fabrication.

  10. "if I understand it correctly, British arty branch will have both high-alpha and low-alpha vehicles, there will also be very mobile and slow vehicles"

As long as they still aren't using the FV4005 as an arty. I honestly don't see why they couldn't just use the FV3806 at tier 10...

    why the fuck not?

Players are already sad because the vk2801 was an amazing tank and now sucks real hard. Couldn't they just give back 20k free exp for a change?

Amazing how this WG can be disappointing...

  16. Agreed, XP = time played, I spent many hours to get that extra XP, also they have now hugely changed the tank from what it was when I ground it. Wg should give those who have had changes forced on them some form of compensation.
