Keep in mind that the vehicle properties might (and most likely will) change.
Regarding the premium tank status:
My guess is there are two options: either it's just a placeholder (eg. will be changed to regular tank eventually), or it's a very special prize for some big ass tournament, so only very few people will get it.
My guess is there are two options: either it's just a placeholder (eg. will be changed to regular tank eventually), or it's a very special prize for some big ass tournament, so only very few people will get it.
Let's have a look:
Wow, Super Testers are really limited in what they can do I'll say Frank aka mainly test a tank and see if it works. Though that means the FailLowe will probably have a horrible transmission of being in the Front or Rear.
ReplyDeleteI meant in the Middle since it's so called based off of the VK 4502 (P) Ausf. B model kinda of.
DeleteIs the VK7201 and the Leichter Lowe the same tank?
ReplyDelete~KarlManx from NA Forums
Now THAT is a complicated question. The truth is, I've been discussing this with the biggest German tank buffs on EU forums and we still haven't reached a consensus. My current opinion is that the VK7201 in real life was some kind of obscure Porsche's contribution to the Lowe program (the thing we know in game as the Lowe was done by Krupp). The model of the ingame VK7201 belongs to the Leichter Lowe, the first 70 ton version.
DeleteBut this is a fake, there was never ever such a heavy Lowe model with such an armor, gun (L/38 was not considered, L/40 was) or weight.
So in your mind they got this design out of their Asses? Like what they did with the T28 Prototype?
DeleteYes
DeleteErr, this means. The FailLowe will be a Tier 10 Premium Tank and not a Tech Tree Tank like everyone thought so really they are replacing a GOOD Premium Tank from the Tier 8 bracket and give us a Shittier Premium Tank @ Tier 10. Even though they said they AREN'T going to do this just to piss everyone off who owns a Lowe @ Tier 8 since they don't like nice things.
DeleteI really feel these fictional tanks or tanks with completely fictional stats really needs to stop. It is swaying me away from the game at this point, as its no longer historical arcade, but just fantasy what-if arcade of unproportional characteristics.
Delete~KarlManx
I don't mind prototypes, but pulling designs out of their asses is just retarded.
DeleteI agree Frank, but I do enjoy the T28 Prototype since it was the most fun Turreted TD I've ever played besides the T30 though.
DeleteWell to be accurate, the T28 Prototype is based off of a concept drawing and set of requirements.
DeleteThe FaiLowe is pretty much entirely fake, in the same way as the E-79 or Krokodil.
The T28 Prototype would be fine if:
DeleteThey elongated it's in-battle name to T28 Proto. or T28 Prototype (Prot. honestly looks stupid as fuck)
And they made the turret historically tiny like it was in this concept drawing (as well as remove the hull MG)
http://i46.tinypic.com/102p8h2.png
~KarlManx
But that concept looks awful, and the one in game looks vastly more likely in terms of actual construction and appearance.
Delete~Haides
So basically an E-100 with rear-mounted turret...Can't understand what use is adding this.Maybe something with a better gun pls
ReplyDeleteLook at the Screenies with the gold-ammo penetration 334-334 and 750 damage per shot is damn good
DeleteIt's the same as the E100. It means you have to spam gold in it to be viable.
DeleteThat's not "good".
-Faded NA Forums
Looking at the stats the failowe has top speed of 43 km/h. I take it over e-100 any time!
DeleteA tank must be good without gold ammo. There are still players out there who don't want to use gold ammo (my respects to them).
DeleteThose players dont play German tanks.
DeleteSpeed limit of 43km/h ain't bad at all to be a German Heavy, including the 7 degree depression.
ReplyDeleteDepends wether this tank will suffer from the AMX 40 syndrome, where the tank will only reach its top speed downhill
Well I checked and it will only have about 10hp/t so it will only go about 23km/h on flat ground unless it gets to (from what Im hearing) its historical weight(though the armor would probably go then)
DeleteDafuq anyone realized price: 22.500 Gold(!!!) (secound screen general)
ReplyDeleteIt's noted as a "premium" tank.
DeleteI know a supertester who said it will be a premium Tier X during test, not kidding.
DeleteI was under the impression that they've stated in the past that they'd NEVER make a tier 10 premium tank.
DeleteWell, all supertest tanks are listed as gifts, regardless of they are premiums or not simply because supertesters don't actually buy the tanks, they are gifted by WG right away.
DeleteWargaming did say they would never make T10 Mediums/Tank Destroyers, so I would not be surprised if they release this.
DeleteI think it is a fake or joke. Armour and speed on a German tank? Never!
ReplyDeleteFake? No. It has been on supertest, so the model exist.
DeleteI think he's mainly talking about the 43 km/h and the 240 Armor on the Tank and not the Tank Model itself.
DeleteYes, that will most likely be changed.
DeleteBut if it isn't, then I think this will replace at least the E-100 in terms of usefulness, though the speed will definitely be changed.
Deletethis tank looks vastly superior over the e100 in nearly every single way to me, and i hapely trade my e100 in for that tank. I think this is to good to be true, and the stats will be worsened before it aprears in game.(as it renders the e100 useless)
ReplyDeleteonly thing wich wories me is that this is a premium tank. as the last ting we need is newbies buying "the best tank" after only a few battles where they feel like they need something better.
Regarding the premium tank status:
ReplyDeleteMy guess is there are two options: either it's just a placeholder (eg. will be changed to regular tank eventually), or it's a very special prize for some big ass tournament, so only very few people will get it.
It is also in Blue like the KV-220 aka a Tank were you can only get in certain times like Events or Gift Stores.
Deletefirst option means we need lower tier tanks as well (wich also has to be made up i gues?) or we have a tier 9 tank with 2 tier x unlockable wich i doubt.
Deletesecond one sounds very plausible actualy, and doesnt sound a bad idea at all to me
T7: VK7001 (early)
DeleteT8: VK7001
T9: Schwerer Lowe
T10: VK7201
What they said, if it is True and not false aka they are just lying to say we are getting another Tier 10 Heavy Tank in the Tech Tree. They said it'll be going from the E-75, VK 4502 (P) Ausf. B and the E-50, what an ODD choice of tanks to get a Tier 10 Heavy Tank... <-- If True.
DeleteIf False, then you must enter a Big Time Tournament.. and get a free Premium Tank @ Tier 10.
as an offshoot from the VK 4502(P) I can see that having some sort of legitimacy. they two designs are similar to one another and are obviously related development-wise.
DeleteWith 24cm front armors and very good turret + derp kaboom-a-dunk boomstick - its not a Failowe anymore :D
ReplyDeleteHammerschlag wrote:
ReplyDeletethere wont be any TX premium tanks, WG said sereral times that the highest tier for a premium tank is VIII.
Gold price because there is no line to grind yet, thats why imo.
Its unsure what the VK7201 was, different sources tell different stories. Its one of the last gray areas in the history of german tanks.
Wargaming currently simple believe in the source which let them put it in as TX.
Regards
I have to say, the Tier 10 Premium Tank would GIVE THEM A LOT More money... Almost 100 dollars worth of Gold to get 1 Tier 10 Premium Tank would give them SO MUCH more money.. lol
DeleteWell, you are one of the "experts" I mentioned in my post. The other guy who wrote you the e-mail about it (name omitted intentionally) and of course there is Kankou.
DeleteWhich sources support WG theory? There's a huge mess, but I haven't seen ANY source (incl. Spielberger) claiming there was any sort of 130ton Lowe rear turret prototype.
Frank, I have to say one thing. It's nice you have a lot of GOOD experts for this type of stuff aka technology in the WW2 era. This Tank seems like they want to bring out the Retarded and Non-Existing Tanks into the German Side besides the Leopard-1... that is, and that's a nice change for the Germans. =P
DeleteHammerschlag wrote:
DeleteI cant support wargaming anywhere with thier claim.
Its just unsure however if it was a Löwe or something completely different. Or even the Tiger-Maus. (spielberger claim that the tiger maus was a tank with the turret mounted in the back)
I've got 3 theories regarding the drawing:
1) it was a VK which weight 72 tons and 100/80/100 armor
2) it was the leichter Löwe
3) it was the tiger-maus (that one is least likely)
but should still be considered, since we dont know how spielberger knows that the turret was mounted in the back
Best regards,
by the way, were is your post?
What post you mean?
DeleteAs for the Tiger Maus - I remember seeing a drawing of it with a sort of Adler turret (not sure it was identical) or something like that, but definitely not the Lowe turret...
What is a Tiger Maus? Stupid question I know but I have no idea...
DeleteAn alternative superheavy proposal by Krupp I believe
DeleteSpielberger mentions are rear turreted Tiger-Maus?
DeleteWell, barring until figuring out from where he got the information, where did he publish this speculation/information?
Krupp likes there alternative designs I guess. But it says on the Records that the E-100 we have in game was supposed to be the Tiger-Maus. lol
Deletelostwingman: The book on Maus research I think - I don't have it, Thor_Hammerschlag however has everything, so I believe him.
DeleteHammerschlag wrote:
DeleteCould you dig that out Frank Davis?
I havent seen a TigerMaus yet, and i dont think such a drawing exists. However, i would be glad if it does exist.
@Darkquest:
Tiger Maus is another myth.
I might dig deeper for it one day.
it is either a
1) e E100 with differnt components
2) what i said above, a tank with a turret in the back
So, I asked and the answer was: "from what I could understand is basically an e-100 with turret in the rear and tiger II-like suspension"
DeleteSo, the early E-100 model before it got renamed to E-100. I had to ask, I find this extremely confusing myself.
Hammerschlag wrote:
Deleteour main source (and i guess also WGs) about VK7201 is special panzer variants from spielberger and doyle.
Also in this book, the Tiger-Maus is said to be a Tank with the turret in the back.
So .. lets go to the cinema and forget about tanks for about 2 hours :)
Err, Myths it's quite hilarious.
DeleteBut I think WG should really stop trying to release tanks that seems more unhistorical than they should be.
Hammer: Good idea :)
DeleteMaybe something on 1 April ? Or maybe like "White Tiger" was ?
ReplyDeleteWhite Tiger actually exist - it took part in a movie as a bad guy....ermmm....tank. :D
DeleteBesides this so what would be the Tank it'll be going off two if it was Implemented? The VK 3001 (H), The VK 3601 (H) or the VK 3001 (P) as an off branch or are they going to create a whole new tech tree line just for the Lowes?
ReplyDeleteLets pray to God that this doesn't get introduced, beacause if it does, this will show how much WG really hates the German line.
ReplyDeleteUh, that's an understatement right there, they already implemented the E-100...
DeleteBoth of these comments are idiotic. The E-100 is a perfectly viable tank in CW and random battles (although it is expensive to run w/ 100% gold rounds) This tank appears to be better armored, faster, and with similar firepower. Yet you idiots still find ways to be negative. For fucks sake you are more dogmatic that right wing Christians.
DeleteErm, let's see. I have way too many Tier 10s to even look at the E-100 anymore, but for some odd reason I haven't sold it since I am a sucker for German Armor that rusts in my Garage. lol
DeleteThough it is a Tier 10, and I don't really like all the ARTY freaking parties in the game ATM, so that's really why I don't really use my E-100.
Protip: No one plays any of their tier Xs (except for crew skills) because of the arty parties. This isn't just a "MUH GERMAN STAHL" issue.
DeleteThough why do I see tons of people in the game play their Tier 10s anyway? I haven't played a tier ten at all lately.
Deleteyou guys are fucking pussies, grow some balls and learn how to stay arty safe.
DeleteOh boy, I bet you're the biggest pro here, who dodges all arty shells Matrix style (or just camps the whole game, praying to the WoT god not to get raped by the arty party.) So STFU and GTFO with your smartass responses. And if you're trying to deny the obvious anti-German bias in WoT, you're either blind or dumb.
DeleteI also wonder why, since the E-100 is so good and easy to play according to you, my clan (second best EU by number of victories and battles) uses E-100/Maus in like 1 out of 40 games?
Good pro tip there bro.
DeleteSS, you could go over my article over at the NA forums.
ReplyDeletehttp://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/218272-kankous-rambling-mystery-of-the-lion/
Seems the general specifications actually match my speculation.
I've seen it, Kankou. The thing is, there is nothing (literally), no source, that would confirm the existence of a 130t heavy tank project with turret in the back and such a heavy armor. Or the use of 150mm L/38 on it.
DeleteI think this vehicle came from Porsche's kitchen too, it might be "realistic" in the way of "Professor Porsche sat one evening on his porch and dreamt of a REALLY big tank, if only they gave him the contract to develop it..." - but this is STILL pulling data out of... nowhere, I mean - it could have existed, but that's the same if I say "Oh, let's take the TVP, add a meter something of length, two more roadwheels and 100mm of frontal armor, the 1000hp engine can handle that, voila, perfect heavy tank for Czechoslovakia!" Only that it never existed.
1. I somewhat doubt the validity of the armor scheme in that screenshot. Are we sure this isn't them just mixing up nominal armor and effective armor?
Delete2. Rear turret was the original design of the Löwe. The Leichter Löwe/Schwerer Löwe split was a mistake done by those dumb retards over at Achtungpanzer.
3. Slapping on 20 mm at the front and side (140 mm frontal and 100 mm side for the original required specifications) on a lengthened chassis could easily increase the weight by 30 tons. Add in the bigger engine and heavier gun, and the total increase can easily reach 40 tons, meaning the 130 ton design is logical.
1. Yes, because the data was datamined with 99 percent probability (eg. the scheme was computer generated)
Delete2. Leichter/Schwerer Lowe is not official nominal system (both are Lowe), but the Lowe itself topped at 100 tons or so
3. It could, of course. That doesn't mean someone did it. I don't claim the design wouldn't work (I am not an engineer, can't say anyway), I claim it was unhistorical
1. I'll skip this part (not my front).
Delete2. My point was that Leichter being rear turret and Schwerer being center turret was a split made up by Achtungpanzer. In reality there was no such difference, with both rear and center turrets being considered for both weight classes.
3. Depends on what you mean by "unhistorical". Quoting Panzer Tracts 20-1 page 23:
"On 1 November 1941, the general specifications were laid out for a new super heavy tank in the 70 metric ton weight class - the VK 70.01 with 140 mm thick frontal and 100 mm thick side armor. A maximum speed of 43.6 kilometers per hour was to be achieed by using a Diamler-Benz Schnellbootsmoter (torpedo boat engine) rated at 1000 horsepower at 2400 rpm."
Specifications did exist, so using them on the Löwe doesn't seem much of a stretch.
3.: Okay, how do you explain the same engine propels the tank of nearly DOUBLE its projected weight (VK7001 = 70 tons, 7201 = 130 tons, which is retarded by itself, as such a project would be something like VK130.01) with the same speed?
DeleteHell if I know. At least with WoT we have the excuse that suspension determines the maximum speed, and that the original specifications for the E-100 also called for 40 km/h with a 140 ton vehicle at 7.74 hp/ton.
DeleteHmmm... well, I'll dig into Spielberger a bit.
Deletewe had 2 buffed abominations in the game: VK4502 A and B. So this one is from the same concept.
ReplyDeleteOkay, Im gonna RRRRRRRAAAAAAAAGGGGGE if this thing is gonna be a premium, I mean, Jesus Christ,Id go for it if its a normal tank at tier 10 with 10mm all round armor, a rpm of 0.0001 and a top speed of 5kph, just because it looks nearly like a Lowe, and now you tell me its gonna be some prize/premium?Im sorry Ive seen those leaks, because now Im really.really.REALLY...sad
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I found odd is the price... it's a gold cost... not silver. This gonna be a premie afterall?
ReplyDeleteSo besides turret placement how is the e100 better than this vk7201 lowe?
ReplyDeleteIt's not. Possibly the hp/weight ration and soft stats.
Deleteif they're going to do that then they should just replace the e100 with this
DeleteAt Frank: I checked the Hp/T and it will be a little over 10Hp/t
DeleteI'm just worried about the low terrain resistance and lower weight will make it a faster and better armored than the e100
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteApril Fools anyone? This is going to be a big troll
ReplyDeleteyeah.. my bet is on that. Even dough there is a model already.. and some stats.. it can still be a nice april fools thingy..
DeleteHajvanho
I'm going to go on record: I think this will be an April fools joke. If I'm wrong then WG will have a lot of explaining (or more likely endless trolling) to do.
ReplyDeleteJediwomble
The FailLowe is on the actual Super Test...
Deletetrue, but still, it looks way to good to be true actualy, i mean it is so much better then a e100 in every way. Some of you might say its rear turret is a disadvantage, but i dont think, as it alows to side srape better.
DeleteBut it does have the SAME exact gun...
DeleteMaybe I'm wrong, but knowing how the (Belyo)Russian mind works, and taking into account the timing of the supertest leaks, prolly a hoax.
DeleteIf not, SS's suggestion of 'superprize' is most likely. As a regular premium, this would be pure pay-to-win, using gold ammo, along the same lines as some of the low tier premiums.
Jediwomble
Chinese server special t10 premium edition maybe?
ReplyDeleteFrom all I have read about chinese gaming "mentality" they would love it ...
I wouldn't shed any tears if this beast stayed Chinese-exclusive
DeleteI would. Am I the only one, who is looking forward to it? I mean as a non-prem T10. To me it looks like it has a lot of hidden potential like the VK45 Ausf.B.
DeleteVK45 B hidden potential - are you still playing closed beta or what?
DeleteYoure not the only one!Lowe fanboys unite!(and 4502 Hinten fans aswell, hated the E-75, but loved the Hinten)
DeleteSo... It's an E-100 with a rear turret and that looks like shit?
ReplyDelete240mm lower plate? This thing will be able to achieve nearly Maus levels of protection with angling, 270mm+ I think (somewhere between 25 and 30 degrees seems optimal). On top of that, both the hull and turret are tougher when facing head on...
ReplyDelete-Platypusbill
Well in that German tanks list there is no leopard 1 what so ever... :\
ReplyDeleteThis isn't my leak and it's extremely preliminary. It was found in the database of 3Dmodels apparently - shows the supertest statistics of the Failowe (which is something not usually disclosed as even the supertesters can't see the garage statistics themselves). The pictures are the courtesy of xCaptainObviousx.
ReplyDeleteAre the supertesters testing their tanks BLIND ? Without knowing how a gun will fair? The hell testing is that if you don't even know how it should be used... Is this 100% sure?
Yes, they don't know the exact parameters.
DeleteI wonder if the exact parameters are available via XML-files... I guess this leak proves that indeed they are.
DeleteSo what is the point of testing, just guessing it and trying it out to find out the approximation before they can start working on how it actually fairs?
DeleteTraverse of hull/turret, engine for HP/ton?
Nothing? How is it testing if you can't relate to the tank in any way... playing it like blind man is like going for a test of foreign language and just putting random characters to see if you pass? ...
Mind blown... unbelievable, and I thought I'd sign up for next wave of supertesters...
Not to mention armor statistics... Gun penetrations etc.
DeleteSo the supertesters just drive them around wondering what the hell is this tank made of... no wonder they think everything is good, because they have absolutely no fucking idea about anything. They just play it with a thumb up or down mentality... Geez, very professional.
it looks like shit EXCEPT it has OMG GERMAN FIRST STRONG LFP
ReplyDeleteand speed
other than that that gun is rubbish unless using gold
I can see it having some of the armor and speed at 3 rpm for the gun. Granted at 750 alpha that is not bad .
ReplyDeleteSo what are your thoughts on this tank? good? bad? you said you "wouldn't shed any tears if this beast stayed Chinese-exclusive" so I'm guessing you're not exactly hyped.
ReplyDeletePersonally I'm pretty ambivalent about the whole affair, I'm on the tier VII-VIII point of the German tree and I'm no panzerboy so I don't have any strong feelings about the line.
As for my performance with German tanks, well I manage to get fairly good battles with them so far...
My problem with this tank is that a) it's an unhistorical fake b) what the hell does Germany need another tier 10 heavy for, when we have to wait like a year for second German TD and medium branch?
DeleteFail. No way they give it a tough lower glac. Nope. Only 2,000 hps as well, with zero camo and rear turret means no usable depression and death from arty.
ReplyDeleteThis thing looks absolutely incredible for those few of us who actually liked the VK4502B.
ReplyDeleteAwesome side armor + Awesome front turret armor + Actually useable gun depression = Winning all day.
Issue is, rounded part beneath turret most likely will be weakspot when sidescraping thanks to its not exactly fortunate shape. Though time will tell.
DeleteSo far monolithic 240mm front with tiny weakspot (flat part between glacis and lower plate) and not bad angling possibilities, gun relying on gold plated ammo but with "proper" punch... Gameplay wise it might not be that fail, but model choosen is meh.
That flat part below the mantlet is 120mm of spaced armour collar with 240mm of turret face behind it. I wouldn't exactly call that a weakspot...
DeleteThe real weakspot is the cupola. It's fairly small but only 80mm thick.
I'm talking about this part
Deletehttp://oi48.tinypic.com/hulphv.jpg
Rounded part might be problematic, also 140mm thick part might not allow for "E-100 like" angling (30-35 degrees and still safe), though +-22 degrees should be good enough.
The weak spot would only be weak relative to the rest of the armour - it's still better protected than the e100 and pretty safe against many t9 ap rounds
DeleteCant believe the hate comments in here. You disgust me. Fake, weak, big, slow bla bla. If you dont like it, then dont buy and play.
ReplyDeleteTo me armor wise it looks strong. Mobility would be nice too with that engine. The gun is shit yes, but i have lots of credits so il get gold rounds instead.
Get a fucking life you whiners. This is nowhere even shittier than E-100 or cardbox T30.
And you are whining about whiners? Hehe. Devs will never give Germany good tanks, period. Proven time, time, and time again.
DeleteOP needs to kill himself.
DeleteDo you guys even remember the hipe last year around 1st of April ?
ReplyDeleteThe discussions on the forums that popped up about the Ratte coming to WoT, then I remember even some in game chat spam about it, and then, with very bad synchronisation around Europe, the official video on roughly the 1st of April in which we could see a Ratte model, with some tanks running around as ingame footage.
I was just thinking ... wow ... the shear work load that must have gone into implementing this hoax. Apparently them russians really like this day as an excuse for trolling.
So, check your calendars, and look at this piece of semi-official outrageous news. Any light-bulbs popping up ?
- Slate
Except they are damn serious about it.
DeleteA fellow supertester started a discussion with WG about historicity and it turns out Pasholok picked a picture from Spielberger and gave it fantasy stats giving a tenuous explanation on how the project was stretched from 72 to 120 tons...
Maybe the tester will feel like commenting although it would be a risky option for him.
Premium t10 HT? WTF??? are you kidding? :-D
ReplyDeleteNooooooooo
ReplyDeleteJust waiting for the JagdLöwe to appear in the TD trees...
ReplyDeletefuck that, im waiting for a real project. Jagdmaus!!
DeleteWell, JagdMaus wasn't a real projekt, neither :(
DeleteExcept it was, discussed along with Jagd E-100.
DeleteBoth discarded because they weren't going to offer any real benefit or price reduction.
Regardless of how completely fake is this, it still looks like a pile of shit Frankentank.
ReplyDeleteAt least it is appereance-wise rather more interesting and creative than the established German superheavies with their "yo dawg I heard you like boxes so I put a box on your box" aesthetics...
DeleteMaybe this thing is a TD, it's hp pool is too low for a al HT. I'm looking forward to it. BRING IT ON!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyone knows/wanna take a guess at what that "Impulse" param in the gun stats is supposed to mean?
ReplyDeleteeaven the author of gamemodels isnt realy sure, as it could be a few diffrent things, only the devs know, and they never discolse info like this, especialy when it comes from 3d party software/sites
DeleteMost likely its supposed to mean "recoil"(Отдача).
DeleteI dont know how it affects the tank performance, but it makes more sense then "Impulse"
If it's recoil maybe it's when you're sniper mode how much does your pointer move after a shot before coming back to it pre-shot position.
DeleteI don't know if it's different with every tank or purely a graphic effect the same from Loltraktor to Maus...
Impluse is a value of accuracy.
DeleteIt basically is a dice roll (if you will)
If it succeeds then the tank's shot will be perfectly accurate where the gun is aimed. If not, the gun "scatters" using the accuracy value.
It's a percentage (so .75 being 75% of the time it goes perfectly straight. It seems that there is other modifiers that additionally affect it, such as movement or otherwise)
I was looking around in the tech tree, and happend to see that the maus, E-100, and Gjgdpanzer 100 have a radio named 10WSc which happens to have a 4th tank that is compatible, the VK7201(K? Could this be coming in a patch later
ReplyDeleteOne of the british prems has the same radio as the excelsior and sexton, thus I knew what new prem tank(s) were coming out
