Yea, in my mind it was 100m long and 1 tank wide impossible to cross, probably just a perception. The rails that were there to prevent tanks falling off are gone though (or maybe they were just on the south side).
This map imo was never that bad to be removed from the rotation system....players actually didn't complained about it that much as they said they are....cool map and i'm glad it's getting back to game and i hope physics and some changes would make it even more playable now...
I like this map too..wait til the majority of the people conjugate around the bridges playing peek-a-boom and you can easily sneak in through the swamp in the middle
Ah, fond memories. Shortly after getting my Type 59 I held the small hill in the north against multiple T10s, keeping every stupid one of them that came up permatracked for arty to cook. After they gave up an IS-3 tried and I solo'ed him :-)
It's supposed to mean that it's coming back to random battles, yes? I wonder if they will screw it up like they did Steppes in 8.4, they made it both ugly, less fund and even less playable than it was before. And they took away my favorite camping white hill at A0 where nobody even cared to look. It went so much farther than a simple "visual overhaul".

The bridge appears much shorter and now two lanes wide. I can see ground underneath the water in the last pic, probably added fordable spots.

ReplyDeleteThe mountain on the west edge of the swamp is easily accessable to scouts & probably some meds, and offers a few really good spotting/sniping LoF.
ReplyDeleteI always liked that map personally, but then I liked Komarin too, so I'm obviously a bad judge of map quality.
And to this day, Swamps and Komarin remain... Disabled. My two favorite maps, and they removed them both.
