Straight Outta Supertest - What I forgot...

In the last batch with the description, I forgot a few tanks. Let's have a look at them...

T6

Performance requirements for a new vehicle, intended to replace the M3 tank, were formulated in August 1940. However, development was started only in February 1941. The T6 used a number of mechanical components of the M3. A wooden prototype was built in June 1941. On September 2nd, 1941, trials were started. Eventually, the vehicle entered service under the designation the M4.

T88

A 105-mm self-propelled gun on the basis of the M18. The order for the development of this vehicle was placed on August 31st, 1944. The Buick Motor Car Division manufactured a prototype at the beginning of 1945. However, development was discontinued when the war ended.

T95E2

Development of this vehicle started in 1943, with 25 vehicles planned for production within a year. Two prototypes passed trials, but never saw action.

(SS: not sure what this is, some sort of T95 GMC evolution?)

  1. This T95 is a medium tank concept, like the T54e1.

    1. the E2 is an odd combo, low hull and a(relatively) tall turret:

    2. The development of this T95 started in 1943? I don't think so.

    4. development started in 1954. I would bet the 1943 reference is a typo. or maybe we're getting a turreted T95 TD as a medium xD

    7. Nt sure it is the T95 med.

It had glass Armor in every form and they explained Glass wont happen.

Unless they change that rule, then I could see Upgraded/angled sherman, sherman 90, T23 being in its tree

    8. Guys, there is a difference between the T28/T95 Super Heavy/GMC and the T95 test bed medium tank.

    9. I just cant imagine them giving us our Glass Armor. I fought for it on the T110 just like it should have gotten.

Also we want the T96 anyways as it had more HP and the 105mm not the 90mm

    10. according to Hunnicutt, the proposal had siliceous core armour, but all of the prototypes produced (9) were all steel, as the program was cancelled before the first protos with ceramic armour were completed.

anyway, the E2's turret is the same as the M48A1's, and that one is already in game.

  2. Description is taken from T95/T28 for sure, but we will get T95E2 medium tank from 1950's already linked by others in that thread. Someone made mistake mixing description of GMC with name of medium.
