Now it turns out the suspicion was correct: the guy is being investigated and the thread that celebrated the game on the RU forums has been shut down. Apparently, the battle was staged - no big surprise there.

So, what kind of staging is allowed, and what is not? Like counting and clicking battle with a clanmate in order to frag his tank and get expert? Playing on tank companies and letting a guy with t1 get Toshi Yamada medal? Or even playing platoons with 2tier higher guy and get medals for killing 2tier higher enemies?
ReplyDeleteWell, if it was done in clanwars, it wouldn't be investigated so what I think happened was that these guys decided with some other clan/part of his clan to let this guy have the 15 kills, waited until the server was at its lowest population point (like 4AM or so) and got into random battle - if you do that, you have a really good chance of ending up in battle with the people you are working with. Tampering with random battles like this is illegal.
DeleteHe did only get a 6 reaper medal. That's a maximum of 9 enemies killed with shells. 6 other kills must have been rams.
Deletecould be two 6-kill streaks, separated by a ram kill or two. or one 6-kill, followed by one ram, followed by minor kill-streaks separated by ram kills, or any combination like these.
DeleteI would have thought a company battle would be easiest to stage stuff like this. You still get medals, unlike clan wars, and you are far far more likely to run into a "friendly" enemy team.

ReplyDeleteWhy? What for? They did it just for the lulz. Some kind of warning, maybe temporary ban - yeah, but permanent ban? What is their crime exactly? Staging a battle to achieve this kind of faked but amazing result? Harmless. Renember one situation few months back when there was ongoing competition for highest xp score and few guys decided to "help" their clanmate receive first place by platooning T1 Cuninngham with BatChat and at the same time creating platoon of 3 BatChats and hitting the battle at the same moment for both platoons. They got to the same battle but on opposing sides. Then that 3BatChat platoon just meet with T1 at appointed place, surronded him, and showed him their backs. T1 killed all of them, farming extreme ammount of xp, cause his team won, as 3 BatChats of enemy team were inactive. THAT deserved lifetime ban, cause it was done to cheat and distort the ongoing competition. But this FV215b guy? To my knowledge it was nowhere near that serious, it was just a joke.
DeleteRight ATM there is a competition running on the RU server for the most XP gained with new vehicles from 0.8.5 patch, thus including FV215b 183.
DeleteOf course platoon battles don't count, but there is still a chance it was done in a standard battle.
But even then I see no reason for even a 1-day, say a lifetime, ban - merely a disqualification from the entire competition for this particular player.

As far I remember there was 15 kills with one shot during beta. It sounds good doesn't it? Well it was training battle with 15 MS-1 in tight circle and SU-14 was firing. Nice idea thought.

In Beta I would fully believe that a 38H could get 15 kills, I recently got 11 kills with my UC-2pdr which beat out the French heavy GDR which had 10 kills to its name.
ReplyDeleteA former clan mate made 15 kill on FFA random battle, even not in platoon. However, circumstances were a bit special, as he get Top Tier with a T-50. (Avalon35 if anyone want to check his stats).
