Straight Outta Supertest part 2

And today in the news....

New supertest vehicle, the.... *drumroll* M60 Patton!
Apparently it's slower, but better armored than the M48

Also, here's the picture of the supertest VK7201 Lowe

Sorry, no better quality available - gotta make sure the source stays anonymous.

    3. DasNiveau, I suppose it looks better than the VK45P but I don't have high hopes for it. Why can't they just make a E-75M.....oh right....>.>

    1. Tier 10 MT apparently. 3rd US medium line

      Delete
    2. So does that mean the rumoured T95 will be a tier 9? And the T54E2 will be a tier 8?

      Delete
    3. Would make sense

      Delete
    4. 3rd? So T95 medium stay the second medium line tier X?

  5. Cellphone camera or something?

So.. the developers will now be pretty much pissed off 'cause they just can't protect future content anymore. I believe they will probably now even close those applications for EU supertesters which they opened recently... sigh.. :(

btw.. that Lowe tank thingy looks ridiculous

    1. Gotta agree. So while Soviets will be getting uberflat Object 907, Yanks will roll out in Patton + Armour, Krauts, as always, receive sh*t end of the stick and a tank with layout obsolete even for the standards of WWII. And before anyone will jump to WGN defence with Leopard 1, I'll say that one swallow does not a spring make...

    2. Yeah, I was accepted for further consideration three days ago when the leaks appeared and had no message until then. :(

      Delete
    3. Gotta agree with all of this. The powercreep continues (we are basically at tier 10.5 now), and the Germans have been given a terrible hyrbid between the Ausf B and the Lowe. You only need to look at every other tier 10 German heavy/TD to see how much of a fail this is going to be.

I have to say though that the British haven't been treated much better than the Germans. Where is the Chieftain? Surely it's now justified with the M60 and Objekt 907 on the way? And what about a second medium line with the Vickers MBT? I mean hell, we don't even have the bloody Firefly yet! It's a shambles.

      Delete
    4. You know that even if they give us British the Chieftain they'll still find a way to ruin it.

They ruined the Centurion and Conqueror, so it wouldn't suprise me if the Chieftain is highly flammable, has a weak ammo rack and its armour is not as thick as it should be.

    5. Nah, I wonder if this could be a sanctioned leak... i.e. promoted gossip strategy.

      Delete
    6. Kenneth: Apart from me saying it's not and the supertesters going apeshit - what would be a point of leaking two vehicles that will make people rage? A modern M60 that is the development of the M48 and a completely useless German heavy...

      Delete
    7. My point is that cultivating gossip can be good marketing strategy. But if you say it's not a sanctioned leak, I take your word for it :) I am not out to belittle your blog. I love it. GJ.

    8. So JagdWehrwolf, which German tank would you like to see in game? Leopard II? Why you accuse WG that Germans where making and developing mainly such huge, heavy tanks. Find me please blueprints (I do not dream abiut prototypes and mass porduced vehicles) of flat German tanks like Obj. 907 or other Ru tanks.

    9. Well, it's the best I could come up with. Frankly I care more about the British line...

    10. @Dead_Skin_Mask
To answer Your first question - how about long promised Waffenträger/Open-Topped TD line? Or maybe alternative Assault Gun line with both highly anticipated Brummbär and Sturmtiger plus sIG 33/2 Hetzer and Sturm - Infanteriegeschütz 33B? What about installing Durchbruchwagen at the start of Henschel branch as a German tier V heavy? Also there's enough material to create another Light Tank line (check this out - http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/141263-suggestion-tier-vi-german-light-tank/page__st__40__pid__2747173#entry2747173).
I'll ignore the Leopard II remark.
And I'm not accusing, nor do I want something than wasn't even drawn. But there could be more to WoT than endgame content, which anyway doesn't bring anything new to table (i.e. gigantic, barely moving Behemoth, with armour good only on paper, but covered with weakspots the size of a barn door).

  6. If the Vk 72.01 is going to be Tier 10 HT, does it mean we get new german HT's or do you need to research it from the Vk 45.02 Ausf.B?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It would make sense to make it researchable from the VK4502B, since it is nearly the same design. I doubt that there will be enough material for a complete third German Heavy Line. It may also be possible that they create a regular version of the Loewe as new Tier IX tank, who knows...

      Delete
    2. The similarities end with the turret placement.

      Delete
    3. Yep.

Except this detail it makes no sense to place it after the Ausf B.
The whole maus branch is a Porsche tanktree. Everytank there was desigend by porsche.
This thing now dosent fit at all.

      Delete
    4. Nope; the Lowe, both variants of it, is a design by Krupp, not Porsche, but then again, the Tiger P is derived from the Henschel line partially, and the Panzer 38 nA, a CZECH design by Skoda, leads to the Panzer IV, which had nothing to DO with it

      Delete
    5. True, but then again, this part of the tech tree has been scheduled for re-work for ages. I believe that eventually (2014+), the low German tiers will be re-worked and the Czech designs (Panzer35t, Panzer38t, 38tNA) moved either to a separate branch, or removed from German tree altogether (as they will most likely be featured in the EU tree).

  7. I seriously cant imagine what will the Lowetraktor bring to the table of the allready-existing tier 10 germans.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. well.. maybe it's faster than 30km/h...

      Delete
    2. If it has the same gun like the E-100 with a rear mounted turret and less armour, it will become another fail Tier X Heavy.

      Delete
  8. I don't think the M60 it's gonna be a viable tank for CW where the armour doesn't count that much for a medium tank. About the tier 10 Lowe... what can i say? Even if i am a "german tank lover" and i want a new line of heavys that can lead to a capable CW tank i hope this project won't make it. The turret in the back means fail, the fact that is a german tank (slow with useless armour) means double fail.

    1. But what if the VK7201 has the mobility of a patton... with the 15cm. I think it´ll be interesting then.

      But yes, its fugly.

      Babs out!

      Delete
    2. I don't think so, because it won't be "historically accurate" :P

      Delete
  9. Awesome news SS! many thanks! im looking forward to these new tanks!

    ReplyDelete
  10. SS, may it be possible that the VK7201 could become a Tier IX or Tier X TD? The reasons for this:

    1. There is IMHO not enough material for a third German HT line.
    2. According to SerB and Overlord, there is enough material for at least three German TD lines. It may look like this:

    Ferdinand -> VK7201 -> Jagdmaus

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. except for the fact that the jagdmaus is never existed... neither on paper project...

      Delete
    2. Jagdmaus is actually historical - at least as much as Jagdpanzer E-100. Both were just general ideas to mount a huge gun on Maus and E-100 chassis (confirmed by Doyle, Spielberger)

      Delete
  11. That moment when you start to dislike the most helpful person on EU forum....
SS, i always appreciated your Q&A topic, but please, stick with that. Posting leaks will only make WG to give a **** about eu ppl and they won't recruit anymore testers.

Even if you don't like wg, creating new tanks is not an easy job, and the fact that you and that leaker are posting screenies it's a very douche thing to do

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why? I mean - you know nothing about that respective vehicle (I didn't ask for what modules exactly it has), it only shows the way WG people are going. And frankly, don't you think WG pisses on our heads already? I mean: what German vehicles do players want? TD's and the Leopard. What does WG make? A completely useless fictional Lowe? Who needs ANOTHER slow heavy? This was one of the major deciding points for me as to why post the leaks.

I understand your concern, I really do. And if you follow my posts for longer time, you know I always defended Wargaming policies, because I thought I understood them, they made sense. Not anymore (another case being the EU server cluster - you'd have to ask someone else about it though). So yea. But I won't post every little thing from supertest, or details.

    2. When I saw this I was like yeah!!! A super Lowe!!!
But then I thought "wait! What'S with my beloved second German TD tree, is it pushed back again!!!?!?

So I'm afraid, that I have to wait even longer...

Thnx for the pictures anyway, the Lowe looks awesome,
      I like it!

  12. It's shit like this that will shut down the supertest and it will all be internal. People are given a position of trust and privilege and they shit all over that. As much as I enjoy seeing about future content, I hate leaks like this, it just shows 0 respect for the access someone has been given.

  13. is it only me or is the gun on the VK7201 looking realy big?
i would guess 173mm or the tank it self is quiet small compared to other german heavys and equipped with at least 150mm gun.
if it's the 173mm i gues it will be played more like a TD

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's the short 150mm like the E-100 has AFAIK.

      Delete
    2. Then i see no reason to introduce this piece of turd.
The armor layout sucks and will be penetrated everywhere,Even if it is at 250 side armor. at least the E-100 has some slopes. Also, the chance of it being fast is slim, and the gun depression seems like less than 3 degrees (more like 0)

      Delete
    3. Also, this thing is not even remotely historical, at least you could imagine something like E-50M coming if the war continued long enough for the engineers to spawn it, but that? No way!

      Delete
  14. If the VK7201 has high speed and sub par acceleration, i will take this tank over any other!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Perfect WG logic again. (I know it is a supertest, but still i just have to say this)
WG always said the 150mm dosent fit in the Maus turret. That is the reason why we have the fugly E100 brick turret. But now the 150mm gun fits perfectly in a Löwe turret which is half as big.

    Derp derpa da derpderp.

  16. what would happen to T95 US MT since m60 patton is going to be the tier 10 MT?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Will probably move down to tier 9

      Delete
    2. Guys this is a supertest. There are tanks tested which never find the way ingame. Just because it is T10 at the moment it dosent mean it will stay at T10.
Anyway. Noone ever said that T95 or what ever wont be a T10 in a finaltree. It is even possible there are three or more med trees for the US.
So plz stopp this guess work. This will just lead to hoaxes.

  17. So M60 is a slower but more armored M48 hmm?

    that sound familiar.....
    Oh wait, T110E5!

  21. Dat xbox huge lower plate on shoe Lowe...

Might even be bigger than the regular Lowe and E-75

    ReplyDelete
  22. VK7201 looks useless, and the model doesn't look historical.

M60 Patton looks like it will obsolete the M48A1 completely (unless they buff the M48, which it desperately needs).

  23. VK7201? is this a joke? do they really hate the germans this much? WW2 ended almoust 70 years ago. wake up WG.

    ReplyDelete
  24. what about hull? 150-200mm?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hey, the gun depression of that VK must go from 0 up... Awful design. :(

    ReplyDelete
  26. I do like the M60 Patton finally coming to pass... though I kinda hate the design of the VK 7201...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Guys, M60 is prolly not going to pass the supertest since it would totally obsolete the M48, and the failLowe is COMPLETELY made up. The gun just doesn't fit and the armor would rewuire to be unhistorical. It would be tier 8/9 at best and I bet it's not going to pass.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Silentstalker will there be a part 3 and have you any news about the 3rd german heavy line?

    ReplyDelete
  29. the new t10 heavie seems rather small if you think that the 150mm isn't the longest gun and it nearly reaches/ overreaches the front

    ReplyDelete
  30. VK would be the top tier of a complete third heavy line, just a sidetank like JPII or is going to replace any of the 2 actual T10´s?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Is it only me that the gun and turret on VK looks like flipped frying pan?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Please use wot tank viewer for good quality screen shots without the fawn

    ReplyDelete
  33. GOD YES The M60!!!!! Yyyyaaay! Finally i am happeh! But it's still in supertest!! Means its miles from release but least i know of it!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Does the M60 get the L7 like the british got? Because it would be again a useless tank with the this f... HESH ammo, that is underpowered in the Med but op in the TD!

    ReplyDelete
  35. the fail lowe looks like something the red skull would drive around
any info on the stats and from where it will be researced?
